I saw an interview with Patrick in which he says the song is about a romantic entanglement with an Adder, as is pretty clear from the song i think. I think the song is incredible both live and recorded because you get so much out of both... i mean Patrick is ever changing his songs live and it makes them incredible. I think the recorded version is great with the whole left to right ear thing... it totally emerses you in that world and it feels really great to be a part of it. But i do also beleive Patrick sometimes is better when he is a little more raw and the live settings he does when its just him and the uke make the song sound haunting and even more aamzing...
I just love the song!
