Hi there
it's been a while since Ive made a thread so forgive me if you think this is useless.
I have to say that I was in shock when he played Blue bells on the album launch Gig, it was so beautiful that I had to grab my friends hand. I have always loved that song and am oh so happy that it is going to be on the album cause I really did not expect that.
so what do you guys think of it ? discuss

that song is indeed oh so beautiful, as were all the new songs I can remember. Like the Stars: "mama, papa..." ;D

I adored all of the new songs, except Magpie.
But Blue Bells is definitely my current personal favourite...

I was just so convinced someone had posted those lyrics on this board, along with theseus and the tower... We didn't find anything I'll give it a try tomorrow if no-one has in the mean time. But I'll have another look on the net before that. ****edit**** I'll ask on the Live Journal

Ok- im gonan go into a little rant now-- as im sure some of you have experinced before on 'Blue Bells' here goes: The song is a winner, theres no doubt about that- its come on a lot since the demo's-however: the chorus from the demo/live recording i.e. *Riiiiingiiing!* is not as uplifting as on the live version...which dissapointed me immensly- cuz that was the best part of it all-- and live, wlel, Paddy just didnt quite cut it i hope he's had some little bird whisper this message to him and this has been seen too, but hey im just a nickpickety boy sebxx

So, last night I posted a plea on the Live Journal, and here are the lyrics posted by ninemicroscopes: you have my everlasting gratitude!!! Blue BellsI used to remember, the smell of the Fall, the fires of fungus, the rotting leaves You fell off the wagon once more, Into my arms, And into this long month, full of Sundays
And (If) you were my husband My heroine, (something here) Let this be our final December
And deep in a forest (or, alternately "I'm keeping a voice") (not sure what's here) So come on and help me remember
'cause I'm going nowhere fast Nothing will ever last Deep in a dream I said 'this compass is spinning' Your love has come too late I'm/I (something) darkened (alternately "garden"?) days -> I wave from this garden gate
Wake me up when the blue bells are ringing
And you see I'm (something) now, (don't know this line) -> and you see I'm bitten/beaten and bleeding bad (?) into many rumors, and rhapsodies
And I'm deep in a forest, using all of our strength
So come on and help me remember
'cause I'm going nowhere fast Nothing will ever last Deep in a dream I said 'my compass is spinning' Your love has come too late I'm/I (something) darkened (alternately "garden"?) days -> I wave from the garden gate (?)
Wake me up when the blue bells are ringing, ringing, ringing, ringing
Ringing, ringing, ringing, I will hear them ringing
Ringing, I hear them ringing, They are ringing"
That LJ user also transcribed " Let's Go, Get Lost" Let's go, oh, oh my love
We could go to the cinema, big effects and big name stars, We could go to the private view, but darling these days my favourite view is you Let's just bend the invitation, Leave our bikes down at the station and lose all sense of direction I will get lost with you
Yes we will run, come, get lost with me, Yeah, slip away discreetly You are my love so come get lost with me, We will run 'til empty
We can stay here 'til closing time, but the drinks are flat and the price is a crime And we could dance 'til our feet turn red but the beat's so boring and I'd rather be home And this town's skipping like a record Re-runs get me so bored So with the nothing we can afford We will get lost again
Yes we will run, come, get lost with me, Yeah, slip away discreetly You are my love so come get lost with me, We will run 'til empty
Let's go, oh Let's go, oh Let's go, ohThe transcriptions may vary according to the versions: these are all songs know as live versions only, yet and not always easy to figure out (especially Blue Bells) so you may be wanting to add your corrections and comments I guess...

here are my assumptions: "and you were my husband and my heroine will this be our final december?" "i'm keeping a forest..." the rest i don't know but i think he's saying "spring" in the end of the sentence. This might be selective listening because of all kinds of things happening to me right now, but i heard "Nothing GOOD ever lasts" "I wave from this garden gate" - long shot "and you see i am different by now it's bleeding by into many rivers and rhapsodies" It's a bit different melodically than what i am used to hearing from Patrick Wolf but i can't help falling for it. i wonder if this is the final version or the album one will be different.

Mmmm, "Bluebells"... the first real sign on Magic Position that the album was once again going to be something special. "Accident and Emergency" and "Magic Position" didn't really do it for me on first listen, still think they jar a little with the general feel of the music as a whole but i think they do work as more of an easy introduction before the proper feeling kicks. Listening to the album through a couple of times completely changed my perspective on some of the tracks and i appreciated them much more, but "Bluebells" and, even more so, "Augustine" really struck even on the first listen.

i adore bluebells one of my favourites, was so pleased when he played it this tour. Brilliant memorieds of me and my friends singing along in the middle of a dark field and being extatic and sad at the same time.

the thing that sold it for me was the fireworks timed perfectly on the second time he says 'darker days'. ;D

Might be his best song. If it wasn't for all the other wicked ones.
