Hello, I'm new, and doing the done thing.
Like Mr. Wolf, my name was Patrick until I soiled it with informality and let people call me Paddy. I used to play the piano and the violin, before hanging up my bow and er, fingers, for lazier days. I loved the Earth, until urban trivialities claimed me. In a nutshell, I was on the same lifepath as Patrick Wolf until I was poorly advised by an evil process of socialisation and took a turn for mediocrity. Well, that's my excuse anyway.
I live in a small town sandwiched between the industrial megaplex of Middlesbrough and the quiet serenity of the North Yorkshire Moors. I'm 21, in my final year of Uni at Nottingham. The life-plan is yet to be drawn.
Today, I accidentally disturbed a birds nest in my garden, and so I spent nearly ten whole Greenwich minutes trying to make it look like I hadn't, by carefully arranging the leaves back around it. I don't know how easy it is to trick a bird, but I think i did a decent job. This is important introductory information, naturally.
One thing's for certain, you will all be better off for knowing me. Make no mistake. I'm sure you can feel it already..

Aww. Paddy is an adorable nickname, and I'm normally not too fond of nicknames... Which means I may end up calling you Patrick, which may get confusing on this board, so I'll try to avoid it, but it's habit for me to use full names. Plus I love the name Patrick... I never used to like common names at all, but now they're my favourite...
And I do think we'll... at least I'll... be better off here with you, because I enjoy people who go on tangents while talking, and you seem to be someone who might.
Hello.
By the way, I'm Laurel, and I'm a quitter too. Lazy is better.

Welcome to the messageboard, erm, Patrick!
Nice random bird story - I think you're going to enjoy this messageboard...
Cheerio, Michael. xxx

By the way, I'm Laurel, and I'm a quitter too. Lazy is better. heh. I didn't specify that I was a quitter as such, but I suppose you're right! I believe all the quitters should stick together, so I'm in the right place. And you'll all be pleased to know that the bird was easily tricked - it took it's place again without battering an eyelid. Those four little eggs shall crack and soar, one day soon. My little birds will not be quitters. Thanks for the warm welcomes.

I do believe hanging up your bow and fingers would qualify as quitting, unless you prefer to look at it as a very long vacation? Good luck with your eggs/future birds. Edit: Yay for my superb thinking/typing/rereading skills. I hate the fact that it tells if you edit your post, it makes me feel stupid... but I'd feel dumb if I left mistakes in my post. Gah. I can't win.

Paddy, I have a feeling your name will be engraved in wood one day. In the meantime, I'm hoping you are a good baker. Welcome!

Paddy, I have a feeling your name will be engraved in wood one day. Hopefully I'll have a bench. I really don't think there can be any greater testament to an individual than your own, fully dedicated, BENCH.
