so wolfboard, what music have you downloaded/bought recently? i was thinking we could discuss whether what you got was any good, and if you were so inclined, you could re-upload and share with everyone else so we can get some convos going about new (or new-old!) music... recently i downloaded norman - hay hay make a wish & turn away and it was really rather good. i've only listened to it the once, so no one track is really standing out to me at the moment, but i enjoyed the general sound/tone of the album overall. very fleet foxes-y. if anyone's interested, i'll re-upload! i also got gabby young & other animals - we're all in this together and i ADORE it... i was initially both intrigued and put-off by her look, if that makes any sense at all, because i was worried she'd be another one of those girl-singers we have around at the moment. pretty, quirky, but altogether talentless and mainly just a bit of careless pop/eye-candy. however... her voice is actually damn good, and her songs are catchy, yes, but the lyrics are gorgeous and sometimes haunting. again... will upload if anyone's interested. now your turn!

this thread is a lovely idea i recently downloaded james vincent mcmorrow's album, haven't really listened to it thoroughly, but it's nice and relaxing and his voice is beautiful. in my mind it's a bit like bon iver had a baby with a banjo and a soul record. this is his cover of willow smith's whip my hair www.mediafire.com/?nzi5kk5xc0uqeqrurmm... the submarine soundtrack. has anyone seen submarine? i loved it i really like the soundtrack too. it's by alex turner from the arctic monkeys. it's short, only 6 songs, but it's got this nice chilled kinda quirky retro feel www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQSHj4rLBMUand some new nellie mckay, which isn't actually that new but i kind of forgot she existed for a while. this is my favourite song from home sweet mobile home. it's a lot more mellow than her usual manic songs that i like, and a lot more computery but it's nice, ya know. www.mediafire.com/?z7qpqhxf7idj8fwif anyone wants albums i'll upload!

I bought Zola Jesus' album 'Stridium II' + came across a really rare Vinyl of hers too the other day. Her music is really cool, it's lyrically and aurally dark but pretty funky. I've known who she was for ages but really getting into her at the moment. Anyone else like her music? You MUST check out 'Night' (Patrick actually picked her and that song in his 'NME takeover' so if you don't trust my judgement, maybe you will his

I bought The Strokes - Angles (which I, for months, thought was called Angels, ha) - it's ALRIGHT. Not the best, not the worst. I really love The Strokes, so I may have been expecting too much. There's a couple stand out good tracks, like Under the Cover of Darkness, Games, and Maccu Piccu, but the rest are yet to catch my attention too much.
I also bought Sweet Thing - self-titled, which is pretty good. It's just popular Canadian band pop music, and I like it. Lazy Susan is the single that made me buy it, and it's still my favourite track on the album, but generally it's catchy, fun songs.

It sounded just like everything else they've made the last album I downloaded was Death From Above 1979's "You're a Woman, I'm a Machine." It's different than what I usually listen to but I kinda like it.

It's not so much a musical download but rather a musical discovery...I haven't decided if I like them or not but on Channel 4 (UK) there was a promo piece about an austalian band called 'Gypsy and the Cat' ...I do enjoy my ''and the'' Bands hehe...anyways they're fairly indie, but they do have a nice song called 'Joan of Arc' Also anyone into Warpaint? I may be going to see them with friends in May...I like their song 'Majesty (The Fool)' They're very acousticy, very pretty music. And one other suggestion 'Niki + the Dove'...NME featured them a few weeks back and like I said ''and the'' Bands catch my eye Very ethereal arty pop....think Ladyhawke meets Bat For Lashes.... Edit: Oh and this UK upcoming artist called 'Wolfette' (I know, right) Found her because she's following Patrick on twitter...Her music would be similar to maybe....Garbage but maybe not as rock...She's good though and really sweet, was chatting on twitter to her too

I got the Kills' new album Blood Pressures. I really love it. I like how you get to hear Jamie's voice more, too. He has such a great voice and I'm glad that the album isn't just dominated by Alison's.

I love in the video how he just puts down the phone after saying "Hello".
Also he's all over the Tv in the Walkers ads, so I've been going around singing "Say You Say Me2 all week >_>
