Silk. Beautiful movie, very calm and quiet. And as far as I can recall quite accurate to the book. I ended up wondering about Kira Knightley though. Somehow her voice sounded.. deeper than in other movies I've seen with her.

went to see Please Give with my mother. i love catherine keener, and nicole holcenter (or whatever her name is), and i'd read good things about it - like how its a movie addressed to women but not a chick flick and not exclusively for women. it was really good all over, i reccommend it.
also: i don't know if its a conincidence, or if this is a common subject in movies, but it seems like every movie i go see with my mother has suicide featured somewhere in the plot. which is awkward for us. this one was especially awkward because the situation of the sisters (rebecca hall & amanda peet) pretty closely mirrors my mother's situation, even the grandmother was like my bestamor. anyway.

DE-LIV-ER USSSSSS!!!! TO A BOYYYY NAAAAAAAMED FREEEEEEEEEEDDDD!!!!!
Oh wait... that's not how the song actually goes. But that will always be how it is in my head.
Love that movie, Anna! I'd take the train up to you if the movie were long enough to still be on when I got there.
I watched Muriel's Wedding yesterday for the first time, at the insistence of many friends. I actually hated Muriel about as much as most of the people in the film did, as well as everybody else spare Rachel Griffith's character, so it didn't actually make me "feel good" at all. Very well made though. And it was nice to see Rachel Griffith's and Toni Collette act in their natural accent.

I love The Prince of Egypt! Although when I re-watched it with my friends we'd just gone through a very long joke about Sigourney Weaver so we changed pretty much everything in the songs and the story to "Sigourney."
"You were born of my mother Sigourney!" "Let my Sigourney go!" "Deliver us, Sigourney!"

Finally got around to watching Where the Wild Things Are a few days back. Aw. Glad I did. Basically an hour forty mintues of men in big furry suits being depressed and dysfunctional. Shouldn't work but it does. Like the Muppets written by Leonard Cohen in a really bad mood.

I finally saw Fargo. IT WAS SOOO GOOD. Mainly because Marge was such a hard ass. Probably one of my new favorite film characters of all time.
Also, I was watching it with my friend in her house and we were so quiet and listening intently until that... you know, that one scene at the end, for those who know what I'm talking about - and in reaction we suddenly shouted AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! in unison. IT WAS GREAT!!

FARGOOOO!!!!
YES YES YES!
Well done Xteenuh. So glad you liked it.
And yes, that scene is classic. ;D
Life is good.
I need to actually wait to post here til I've seen a movie... I'm just mooching off everyone else's movie-watching ways at the moment. It's no good.

Saw a documentary called "Off the Grid," which was mildly interesting. Watched "The Red Shoes" before that, which was fabulous. Music, dancing, and drama -- I loved every bit.

YEEESSSS!! ;D I actually wrote about Fargo IN SPANISH on my final exam the other day, which made taking the test much less painful. But since I'm so bad at Spanish, it turned out terribly anyway... Umm so, I finally saw The Exorcist this afternoon! OMG. IT WAS AMAZING. Not really that scary to me, but definitely intense. Great acting and makeup!

...Michael, thanks for giving me plans for tonight.
I watched Mean Girls a few days ago. I haven't watched an archetypally 'intelligent' film in forever.
