The intro reminds me of that Muse song, 'Undisclosed Desires'.
Germany's is so catchy.

I CANNOT HEAR OUR FUCKING SATELLITE SONG ANYMORE! argh. but all the luck to us, it couldn't get any worse (2002: 21/24, 2005: 24/24, 2007: 19/24, 2008: 23/25, 2009: 20/25 = lol). i like the entries of spain, belgium, serbia, greece. wish estonia, finland, netherlands, slovakia, switzerland would be in the final instead of some others. greece or serbia will win. mh, i loved it when LORDI won the esc in 2006! ]:->

I used to love Eurovision, back when I was seriously obsessed with Finland, and I remember the year Lordi won…I was so happy, even if they did look like monsters. I loved Verka Seduchka too…I have to admit I still listen to that…it comes out on every party playlist! And The Ark of course, I begged and begged to be allowed to vote for them (my parents refused because they paid the phone bill) I’ll try to watch it this year but I’m not sure I’ll be back from some party I’m going to in time

VERKA SEDUCHKA! legend. i wanted him to win too. that eurovision party i drew ukraine from the hat for my country choices so it was even more funny... ahh. Yaaay I saw Verka in the people who were "at home" celebrating XD. I saw Graham Norton and went AAAAH GRAHAM NORTON (was he doing the commentary alone?)! UK entry....wow it was really....bad. Next to that, the year Scooch went was GREAT. So disappointed not to see Sweden, what happened? Laughed out loud when the Belarus got their wings out XD (a french tv guy had also made jokes about it all week telling everyone to vote for them...). Actually I laughed a lot this year. Especially when that guy came on stage with Spain hahaha XD. And Moldova with the saxophone... Our commentators were funny compared to the usual, so I had a good time! The flash mob thing was great! Although we French suck at it, nothing was organized in Paris! Big disappointment. Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking that Turkey's entry sounded like Muse. The Greek entry reminded me of Svetlana Loboda's "Be My Valentine (Anti Crisis Girl)" and the song from Denmark reminded me of The Police. And the Romanian entry of Lady Gaga at one point in the song. Aaaaaand our entry, I hadn't even heard it before tonight so I can't get sick of it because no one in France even cares about it so it won't be on the radio/tv. I don't get it, Belgium's our neighbour and they didn't give us ANY points! WTF. Everyone gives points to their neighbours! Lena's such a cutie, she was all nervous and went "Do I have to sing?" XD. She seems so normal, the other years the winners just went to sing and didn't seem really nervous or say things to the public much.

Our commentators were funny compared to the usual, so I had a good time! haha.. yeah. our commentator said about Moldova that the woman (with the blue bar on the eyes) looks like a moldovan version of Lady Gaga and he made fun of the british points for maNga because he meant they sound so much like Muse. Basically he made subtle jokes about everyone. eta: .. about the neighbouring countries: we have nine! and I think now Milan Stankovic became a legend.

two wars and a world cup, right? sigh.
it all pales in comparison tbh. how can people ask patriotism of me when we haven't even won eurovision since the year my sister was born?

entries on eurovision.tv ...interesting
someone from Romania: "GERMANY WAS A POLITICAL VOTE! THATS WHY SHE WON! [...] GERMANY ONLY WON BECAUSE THEY HAVE MONEY TO DO EUROVISION 2011, BUT IT WASN'T FAIR FOR THE OTHER COUNTRIES..."
from Azerbaijan: "-About the winner Well I didn't think that PORNO STAR from Germany will do it"

ah, so this is some annual celebration of the deranged and their attempts at music. hmm.
off-topic: scaremongering news outlets and the ever-paranoid always go on and on about how simple it is for terrorists to drum up the supplies and know-how to construct explosives capable of destroying large buildings like convention centers [and every soul in them] typically used for hosting musical events and the like, but does anyone actually know, hypothetically, how one would go about assembling such a device in just a little under a year?

My family voted for Greece, Belgium and Germany, can't believe we actually picked a winner for what's probably the first time ever! Well done Romi Can't believe it's another year till the next one now, it's ridiculous how much I enjoyed that one!
