Yes, yes, i've gone for the obvious! The wonderfully picturesque and moving (see: a bit depressing) film that Patrick sang a song for is my choice! It's about the life and relationships of Dylan Thomas, the poet. I love the film, it's one of my favourites and I sometimes just get the urge to watch it in a big way. Plus it's full of buff people. It goes through a lot of time quite quickly, so once you're at the end, think of the beginning and you'll be like 'whoaa that feels like ages ago'. So yeah, here's a link: www.movies-links.tv/movies/the_edge_of_love/and a trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLsQSVuNsRg which makes it seem more dramatic than it is. Sorry I couldn't find any more!

You really should! There seems to be no real bias to his persona, although for me it's LOVING him at the beginning, and sort of hating him at the end. The hotties in the film are: Matthew Rhys (Dylan Thomas), Keira Knightley (Vera), Sienna Miller (Caitlin) and Cillian Murphy (er...Vera's hubbie.)

I haven't participated thus far in this film club thing, but I've seen this and I really enjoyed it.

I haven't done the film club thing either but I've seen this film and thought it was really good... although I found Cillian Murphy ( ) the only real likeable character in the film. Although there's a certain something about Keira Knightley with a Welsh accent... ;D

Keira Knightley is darn pretty, but she's a piss poor actress.

She's alright in this! Mainly because it's 'blank facial expression' work (ish...). But yeah, her accent's SHITE most of the way through.

Keira Knightley is darn pretty, but she's a piss poor actress. I agree with this completely. She taints Mr Darcy's proposal scene with her duck-like facial expressions I still like her though.

woo, yeah. bit bland and filled with frustrating characters. i've found i don't really take well to that tangled, emotional-equivalent-of-animal-babies-writhing-around-on-top-of-each-other relationship thing. perhaps the soldier should have expressed some coldness to the idea of the communal living prior to leaving, but i guess as a writer you can't do that with fact-based drama. on the other hand, i did like the set and costume design, and a couple stylistic choices the director made, but i kinda felt the pacing was off when the 30 minute mark felt like the 90th. i did however get a second wind when killock looked to rambo-up that soiree. this probably ranks somewhere in the bottom twenty of my favorite keira knightley period films.
also i kind of wish thomas' alleyway beating happened near the end of the movie so i could enjoy it that much more.
