My mother has informed me that if she ever catches me smoking she will break all the bones in both my hands. Screw cancer, that's the reason I don't smoke.

I know telling people smoking is bad is MAJORLY preachy, but, I don't like it when people die. Preventably or not. It is sad.

on the other hand, keep on smoking. it is my state's main crop. When are you living, 1867? So few Maryland farmers are growing tobacco nowadays they had to cancel the annual auction this year. Maryland started a buy out program in 1999, and the Feds started something similar in 2004.

We don't have a state crop...? We have a state thing for nearly everything (state cat, flower, song, dinosaur) but not a state crop. Yeah, it was incredibly important in the state's economic development up to and even past the Great Depression, but in modernity? Not so much.

Opinon Number One: I like smoking. A lot. I don't want to quit. Ditto this, and I am dreading the law change that will make it harder for me to purchase tobacco products. It won't stop underage smoking, it'll just make underage smoking a more lucrative business.

Yeah, the fact that my grandad died horribly from smoking has put me off for life. No amount of "omg but smoking is COOL!"s can make me forget what it did to him.
