I'd rather see an image that changed the world for its content (be it political or otherwise) and was shot badly than a photo of George Bush looking fly. I'm not talking about "worldchanging" I'm talking about good and bad.

Technical perfection does not make for a good photograph, though. That's all I'm saying.

Can someone possibly help me? When I was at the Tate Modern there was a room with about four photographs of rooms that, when examined closer, were actually completely made out of paper (a FUCKING fdfghjkKITCHEn, etc...). I didn't take a photo or write down the artist or anything, but does anyone know what I'm talking about? Any help with finding out who the artist was would be appreciated! I did check the tate site, but nothing came up and I can't even remember what hall it was in, etc...

Despite his illustrations not being the most stimulating alone, I just fink dat ee iz da shit. His Brothers Grimm accompaniments are the only illustrations I think compliment the words better than my own imagination. A bit of nostalgia for me too. Karen Knorr Rinko Kawauchi. These images just make me react how no others do. This post seems to be more personal than any other I've posted on this board. Most peculiar. Victoria, I have no idea about who that could've been...can you tell me anything else about them? I was there around April time, can't believe I missed it.

Without close inspection they just looked like photos of various rooms. One was a FUCKING fdfghjkKITCHEn, another a front hall (I think), and there were two others. They were quite large, probably about 5-ft... I thought it was kind of odd that there would just be photos of rooms, so I looked closer and every detail was constructed out of paper. They were in one of the regular display rooms, not any of the special exhibits or anything.

beryl cook has been part of my artistic love for years. i was lucky enough to see two of her exhibitions, one when i was 10 and another just last year. most people think her paintings are hideous but i bloody love them also one of my favourite ever paintings, mariana by Millais i just love her stance. and the colour of her dress that reminds me a bit of Tom Philips, with the whole thing of using borders and text oooh, have you seen Tableaux, Whispers and Echoes? it features illustration by tom phillips. its a gorgeous book www.picture-box.com/tableaux.html
