I don't read them at bedtime anyway, i read the first one and had a nightmare about Aaron chasing me... I shouted at the book in English (everyone else was finishing an assessment i had finished last term, so I could sit off and do whatever i wanted for an hour) because the dog died and was really surprised at the end of the book, so much I said 'Why is he there?' and read over twice... Who is she? I love Take Me Out, the lad with the long blonde hair made me think of Lucius Malfoy out of Harry Potter so bad

Have never been so distraught by the death of a fictional animal than I was when that happened (Although that's a bit of a spoiler for people who haven't read it, haha ) And it was a he actually, the guy with the glasses who played 'The Edge of Glory' on the piano the other weekend! He's doing a masters at my uni and I don't actually know him all that well, but it was absolutely bizarre seeing him come down the love lift

Got my project marks from last term back this morning and I got 76, which is a really, really good first!!! I haven't had a single grade above a 2:1 since first year and I've NEVER got an overall first on a project before, so I'm absolutely ecstatic! Especially as my lecturer seems to have suggested that I should seriously consider writing a play or opera libretto, and the script for this performance was the first I've ever written in my life... Aaaaaah!!

^Woop! Congratulations on your excellent marks!
Speaking of marks. I'm getting my History and Biology results next week. I'm worried over the History but I'll do fine in biology.

This has made my day today: Watching this Japanese cartoon* and I'm getting annoyed at the historical inaccuracies and fuming about the way they are saying that the Queen Victoria has power in Victorian England and they're saying she sort of make laws on drugs n stuff, but she couldn't! The Parliament (yes in Victorian England) make decisions and bring them before the Queen, but the last monarch that disagreed with the Parliament's decision get killed, so she isn't going to disagree... I also got really happy when they mentioned Opium, because my teacher mentioned it today in class. I was like sprouting facts about Opium like it is normal... Yup, taking History has done this to me but I love it really. * Its called Kuroshitsujo or Black Butler, if you want to know. I took my mates advice and have been watching it, its fun ;D

Its March, by the way. It was sunny here as well today, though i had to stay in school for an extra half an hour because the all of the year were either doing foundation or higher maths papers. (except about 10 people, including me.)

I have (a bit of) free time again! ;D I had so much uni work to do in the past couple of weeks i had to ban myself from here We just had a test on medicinal chemistry, which is basically biology (and i think i was the only one who'd never done biology) and we had to memorise the structures of 20 amino acids side chains... why do they make us memorise all this stuff??? So i decided i'd start studying really early (because i always end up trying to cram) so now my brain is stuffed full of knowledge about nucleic acids and proteins And i also had to do a presentation (which i hadn't had to do for at least for 4 years) and it was very scary Anyway, i'll stop ranting. I'll read all the new posts and reply to stuff later - i'm too sleepy now And congratulations Nat! And good luck Chelsea Oh i just remembered what actually made my day today! A while ago i was thinking of getting the black A&E tshirt (because it's not like i have 5 PW tshirts already... ) but the small ones were sold out. I could have got medium (i have the red one in medium and it's not that big on me) but i was trying to stop spending money on things i didn't need Anyway, the other day i found a small one on ebay, which had apparently never been worn, and today i won it for £1.24 ;D That's why ebay is better than sandbag (except for the fact that Patrick doesn't make any money from ebay )

Thanks guys! Niwo, your day sounds absolutely lovely! It's not sunny here right now, we had some the other day (I played in a concert in a church and the sun was streaming through the windows, it was gorgeous!) but now it's all rainy... but at least this stops me wanting to go outside and getting distracted by my work Cat, I'm quite glad I took a degree where we don't have exams and tests, just coursework; I'd probably get even more stressed than usual! Chemistry sounds really hectic, my degree's mad this term and over the holiday but after Easter all I have is my final recital, which is going to be really strange... and scary! I used to hate presentations whenever I had to do them, hope it went well! And good luck with your results as well Chelsea!

Cat, I'm quite glad I took a degree where we don't have exams and tests, just coursework; I'd probably get even more stressed than usual! Chemistry sounds really hectic, my degree's mad this term and over the holiday but after Easter all I have is my final recital, which is going to be really strange... and scary! I used to hate presentations whenever I had to do them, hope it went well! Yeah it is pretty stressful, i feel like i have no free time any more - we get so many tests and lab reports and other stuff to do. Sometimes it's better to have exams than just coursework because you can do nothing most of the time and then cram when the exams are coming up, but i have so much work to do now it's hard to find the time to study properly. And then in the summer i'll have 4 months of doing absolutely nothing (except for working a few days a week) - i'd rather it was more spaced out. Plus we have much heavier timetables than everyone else - most people i know doing other degrees are only in for like 2 hours a day and we're in 9-5 most days Sorry, i'll stop complaining now actually this song: soundcloud.com/bishi-2/albion-voiceand I was really surprised, because I had listened to some of her stuff but didn't like it quite that much, didn't impress me. but this now wow! I really really love it <3 I like all of Bishi's music I tend to like her catchier/more pop songs better than the slow ones but i really love Albion Voice, it's gorgeous <3 (Except i can't put it on my ipod because the memory is full and i've completely run out of stuff to delete i should really get one with a bigger memory )

Yeah, coursework can be a right pain as at least with an exam it's all done and there's nothing you can do about it, but with coursework it just won't leave you alone for ages! Plus I'm both a perfectionist AND naturally a person who works best at the last minute, and those two things don't really go together too well! Ah well, I'm getting by! I have quite a few friends who do Chemistry at my uni and they have so many more hours than me; I think one said they can have a 25 hour week when they have labs and stuff, and I only get 30 hours a term (and that's all within four weeks)! I think I'd rather be in more though, half a term of lectures means it's far too easy to lose your motivation to work What made my day today: basically had a mini-meltdown earlier about the fact that my dissertation's now due in a week, which was obviously not a good thing, BUT I was saved from the rubbish mood I was in by a lovely surprise birthday party we held here for a friend! I missed her face when she walked in as I had a rehearsal (sad times!), but had an absolutely lovely evening with lots of good friends, made even better by the fact that I didn't need to worry about getting home as I was already there It's cheered me up so much, just what I needed

I got a C in my history exam, a B in biology and a freaking A* in chemistry exam (the harder one!) woop! Though this means I am resitting my easy exam and fixing my cannabis coursework to get 11 more marks for an overall A*... I'm still ridiculously happy, and it took me a while to feel sorry for my friend who got an F in history and has everyone moaning at her... So what, I fucking got an A* people!!

Well done Chelsea!!! Yeah i have a 21-23 hour week (unless we're in one of the labs which doesn't make us come in every day). One of my friends who's doing medicine was shocked at my timetable! And even the chemical engineers get fridays and wednesday off now!!! Being in all the time also makes your lose motivation to work Studying's the last thing i feel like doing when i've been in 9-5! Sorry, this is supposed to be a happy thread... only 2 months and 5 days til my summer holidays start ;D Good luck with your dissertation Nat!

Congrats, Chelsea! what the rabbit did i do wrong with my studies? when i had uni times, it was a sit in for at least 40 hours (hideous thursdays and fridays had us be there from 8 am to 10 Pm!) + saturday 8am to 1pm ... on a happier note, i did survive that without all too much mental damage and happies for today were caused by: - my dad's first ever email - my screwdriver arriving - joghurt

Your uni timetable sounds horrific!!! I should stop complaining, at least i don't have to be in evenings or weekends Is that normal for German uni's? We would never get hours like that here (although i've heard PhD students have to be in evenings and weekends but i think that's just to do research and stuff)

no that's just when you study at a business college and work for some weeks and then it's studies for some weeks and work again etc. you earn your own money though when you chose to do that. I for example am lazy and still financially dependent on my parents which is pretty common for German uni students I'd say or so my slightly guilty conscience tells me... uhm oh my day...erm I'd say getting my new contact lenses I hate my glasses so yeah...yay!

congrats! well done! although it doesn't feel appropriate to say that as a dissertation still seems to me sth so 'grand' that one should probably give you a handshake and a pat on the shoulder and say sth really really sophisticated and clever about entering a new stage of adult life and blaa... ;D but I guess you know how to celebrate what made my day so far: listening to Kitty, Daisy and Lewis in the morning and wondering what they were doing lately and so I ended up googling and realising I totally missed that they released a new album last year...and now I want to see them live so badly edit: what made this whole story even funnier was letting my mum later on guess from which period this record was and where the musicians were from while we were listening to it... mum: 1940s 50s? me: no *giggling* 2008 mum: hm can't be me: where are they from? mum: southern states me: *lol* no...gb mum: but she's black me: no... mum: now that can't be true only a black woman could sing like that! me: erm...but they're not she was the same with Amy Winehouse. she simply couldn't believe that someone who wasn't black could sing like that...

I've just discovered Changes is sung by David Bowie! I wanted to cry with happiness because Changes is an amazing song... I've been on a Bowie binge this week. I'm loving it unashamedly, luckily everyone in my class adores him, or at least is tolerant
