Hey, you know, I went to see her live, and she was fine... I'm just saying she's boring, because this is the Jenny Lewis thread. Anyway, I liked Coldplay's Parachutes. They got dull after that, but I think a lot of the Coldplay slagging is just 'cause it's cool to do so.... No, I think most of it's cos they're nasty little Tory boys with awful record production and very dull, repetetive and melodically-stilted songs and a singer who is both pious and (seemingly deliberately) off-key EVEN ON RECORD.

To be fair Parachutes is listenable even if it is one long Jeff Buckley pastiche.
The record afterwards however are so overproduced they make The Killers sound like a Elephant Six band.

It's not really a Buckley pastiché though, is it, because Buckley's music at it's best dripped sex and drama. Coldplay have never been dramatic or sexy. Parachutes is just... easy-listening for the post-Oasis generation.

What on earth is there to dislike about either Rilo Kiley or the Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins albums? They're not amazing, but they are very good. Great melodies, some excellent lyrics. I really dislike her voice usually, although I do like her with The Postal Service. She takes backseat in their songs and pulls that off much better. Probably just a me thing.

Has anyone heard the new Rilo Kiley album?
It's really cheesy. In a good way.
I think they're evolving into a Fleetwood Mac for our generation.
