I have just made a chilling discovery that Matthew Herbert co-produced the Bachelor (e.g. Who Will?) Matthew Herbert, i.e. this murderous little f*cker: thisisapig.blogspot.com/I hope so badly he's not gonna have anything to do with the Conqueror...

oh come on . I'm a vegetarian and all, but it's an interesting project. He's using every part of the pig and it doesn't sound particularly inhumane or anything? I'd rather have someone kill their own animal than buy something from a factory farm. Not to mention it has nothing to do with his skills as a producer... And Patrick is huuuuge fan of leather in case you didn't notice.

That doesn't change the fact that it's a stupid project and shows utter contempt for life

Er, which is also inherently wrong. It's just my opinion. Take it or leave it.

This 'project' makes me sick. oh come on . I'm a vegetarian and all, but it's an interesting project. 1. You are an interesting 'vegetarian'. 2. It would be a more interesting project if someone made a flute out of Matthew Herbert IMHO.

lollll I like how this is in 'quotes' like I'm a fake vegetarian or something. Someone has a different opinion, oh noes!!11 I don't necessarily LIKE the idea killing animals, but I don't see how this is exceptionally cruel (it's not like he's going to bludgeon the pig to death with a shoe), nor is it relevant to his work producing The Conqueror. Also, if I remember correctly, Patrick has admitted to killing a sheep and eating its placenta, how is that really any different? I'm pretty sure he's even worn fur. I've never seen anyone calling him a "murderous fucker" and boycotting his work. I don't know, I just think there are bigger issues in animal rights than some dude killing a pig.

If you hadn't noticed pigs are killed for food & shoes all the time. What difference does it make that he is recording pig sounds as this process happens? I'm a vegetarian too and I don't possibly see how this is so different from just killing a pig without recording the sound it makes.

Well, it seems clear that we're never all gonna agree on this. Clearly some of us have different ideas on animal rights, be they ethical or religious, to others. And on that bombshell...

I'm a vegan, and I don't support that sick "project" either... I won't stand for it if any of that stuff makes it into Patrick's album.

PS killing and eating animals is great; they're delicious. I hope he slow roasts the pork belly over a bowl of water to steam the meat moist and catch the fat for gravy.

There is something ever so slightly Freudian about this! "killing and eating animals is great", "steam the meat moist" and "catch the fat". Hmm. So, you really enjoy killing animals yourself do you? Whatever makes your meat moist mate!

Er, yeah, that's just immature and inappropriate. I wouldn't say that was especially immature or inappropriate, maybe a wee bit gratituous, although, truth be told, that would be taste delicious. And anyway, a lot of instruments used to be made from various animal parts, and in a lot of countries around the world they use animal skin etc to make drum skins. If people are going to eat animals, (which they are, accept it, it's in our nature and, more importantly, it tastes great) would you not rather that all the parts of the animal are used? I'd say that's far more respectful to the animal than to throw away various parts. To be honest, if I was going to be eaten, I'd rather all the parts of my body went to good use!

I respect some of your points, my only problem is that it's in the name of art/music.
