Sorry if this should go in the requests thread....I can't find video of Patrick and Florence together at her show at the Tabernacle, and only one photo. I would love to hear his duet(s?) with her if anyone knows where to find them....halp?

For no other reason than having a moan, I must mention that I can't stand Florence. She's the new Alison Godlfrapp. Stood front of stage drowning in the self importance of it all, in front of a band of over serious college lecturers, whilst dressed in clobber that would look crap on someone even as remotely attractive as she patently thinks she is.
The only decent thing about her act is the name, and even THAT came about after she had witnessed the far more worthy Manchester artiste - 'Lucy And The Caterpillar'.
Bah humbug. etc.

How come Patrick gets to be be Florence's friend and I don't? No wonder I don't like him. My current goal is starting the backlash against the FATM backlash.

Her voice is nice but she lacks anything else needed in a musical artist...

Lungs pisses all over The Bachelor.
It has actual memorable, honest and emotionally involving songs, rather than playschool politics and over-baring insertion of the artists contrived persona over aimless tracings around the second side of the Hounds of Love.
Florence and Patrick both got major label deals and a fair amount of media exposure. One's big, one isn't and for once the British public is about right.
It shouldn't suprise you to hear that said DeathbyGlitter, seems pretty fashionable to knock Florence in my social circles/indie culture in general at the moment. Leave the indie ghetto and stick your flag the mainstream territory and people will try and knock you down, THEN whinge about how that same mainstream is full of crap.
I love what Florence does, and that is obviously subjective.. but even people who ain't feelin' it must conceed that compare to most "chart music" she's frickin' Mozart.

Again her music has as much substance and feeling as anything Patrick has done. I can see why the bombasticness and shiny production isn't for everyone.. and the relentless promotion might get on people's tits but to assume something's phony contrivance just because it's 1) popular and 2) you don't happen to like it.. seems a bit.. wanky. Especially coming from the forum of an artist who could easily be accused of being style over substance himself.

I'm quite late on this lovely discussion but having just listened to Lungs for the first time, what a voice on her!
And she's not "chart music" here so I can still pretend it's cool that I like her haha
