I know this is the wrong section, but only lamers read the OMA section so I decided to put it here. Anyway, it's nearly the end of the Noughties, and I think it's time we started thinking about the music that's worth remembering from this decade, so I propose we make a list of the Wolfboard's Favourite Albums of the Naughties ( ) What this entails exactly is you, the people, sending me a list of your top ten albums since 2000, in order (one being favouritest, ten being least favourite) and using magic and obsessive-compulsive use of a spreadsheet I will produce a comprehensive list of our besties. For those of you who are old and decrepid enough to remember the time Luke tried to do this - mine will be better. As in, I won't fail. Love x P.S: if people want to write a review of any albums that would be cool too - make it like a real magazine feature.

Too hard! I hate thinking of things like this, they make my head hurt because I worry about having missed out good albums. Also, I didn't care about music until like, 2003. I may be able to give a vague list of albums I bought and loved, but I have a feeling that would anger the 'OCD spreadsheet' Sibz.

there should be a rule like 'no repeating artists' on one list... and by 'ten being least favourite' do you mean 10th favourite?

Yes, I do mean 10th favourite I'm not sure about the "no repeating artists" thing - I'm more inclined to leave stuff like that up to personal judgement. Rhi - don't panic, you have ages to think about it

and is this best albums, or favorite albums (i'm thinking the latter, no?)
well, i'm off to consult with pitchfork (a starting point! i don't have a list of all the albums released in the 00's in my head!)

I love things like this! Can we make predictions? I think Lycanthropy or WITW will be number one. That is all.

I THINK A PRESENT FOR EVERYONE BY BUSTED WILL BE NUMBER 1!! If I didn't like the idea of this thread so much / like Sibz so much / look forward to making my top ten so much, then I'd suggest that we encourage people to put it in their vote so this becomes true.

Trying to think of this depresses me. It's all personal taste (natch-o) but for me the 00s have been the worst decade for music evaaa. Honestly struggling to come up with ten. Well not really, but not many of them are up there with my hardcore fave albums evaaaa.

I'm with you Josh. After 5 I was really having a tough go of it thinking up anymore. But I think I've now compiled a very satisfactory list... I just was kind of hoping narrowing it down would be the harder part. Myowell

come on guys Arcade Fire's Funeral? that's an amazing album Overwrought, overly earnest chest pounding strain-rock, if you ask me (hell and I'm a Springsteen fan). Oh, I'm being a bit harsh, but I think Arcade Fire get more credit than they deserve, simply for being one of the few bands anywhere near the mainstream who even attempt depth (or at least they were in 2005..)

come on guys Arcade Fire's Funeral? that's an amazing album It's definitely in my ten It reminds me completely of the time when my older brother first bought it; I was twelve and just getting into music and so it really defines the noughties for me, I suppose. Plus, it would get into any top ten for Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) alone, surely. Beautiful.

oh all you 'I'M STRUGGLING' people are being silly sillies. GET ON THE GOOD MUSIC TRAIN. there's sooooo much i want to fit into my top ten that i really can't because it's a top TEN so arghhh It's all about opinions, I haven't spent the last nine years with my hands over my ears or with tunnel visioned prejudices about new music I just find that my regular musical diet features surprisingly little from post-2000. I get a poignant chill of nostalgia every time you mention Colour of Fire, takes me right back to my first girlfriend putting them on mixtapes for me and swooning over the members.
