JESUS. I'm so glad I didn't bother seeing him on this tour. I dont think that was his best performance this year. but I have seen him being absolutely magical and brilliant so many times on this tour that I wouldnt think twice seeing him again.

I watched this yesterday and it made me cringe for some reason. Im still a big patrick fan but for me, the whole headset and patrick being not that good of a guitar player made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Especially as hes playing a rock festival where the majority of the bands are guitar bands. I havent seen him on this tour so maybe id feel differently if i did. Shows usually do feel better if you are in the crowd and not in the arm chair in the living room. .

Yeah, this tour has been ridiculously hit and miss. From the video, Reading was clearly not a great performance but at Latitude he was amazing (and said it was the highlight of his year, so yeah...)

I think personally I have always preferred musicians, where the music is the sole art and they concentrate on the sounds they are making, and I've never been a huge fan of any sort of performer, so I suppose I can't really identify with it, that's all. My thoughts exactly. All this 'tribe' nonsense is embarassing too.

I go to a lot of gigs and i quite like when a band / musician puts in a bit of effort and performs for the audience and not just stands behind the mike staring at the floor and not making any contact with the audience. I found the Arctic monkeys set from reading the weirdest, I keep asking myself 'are they taking the piss?'
I have been to quite a few gigs where the music wasnt really my taste but I enjoyed the show cos of the energy and the interaction with the crowd was so good, eg enter shikari, i'm from barcelona, crystal castles etc....

JESUS. I'm so glad I didn't bother seeing him on this tour. Ew. My God... I cannot stand the amount of hate there is here towards people who admit to not liking the Bachelor and/or Patrick's current stage persona. It's a completely different style and type of music to most of what Patrick has done in the past, right? Therefore, those who became fans during his earlier touring stints and older albums will possibly (and PROBABLY, from what I've seen, but that's just my experience) not like it. What's so wrong about that? It's common sense for it to be that way. In my opinion, it's clearly a shit performance in comparison to the past stage performances which fans (including myself, and probably Frankly) have experienced. They were stunning and amazing, with the beautiful songs and the beautiful playing of beautiful instruments and a beautifully friendly and magical atmosphere etc. etc. So I couldn't stand to watch this performance, either. Wheras you like current-era Wolf; that's fine. Personally, I'm not into my musicians prancing around in silly pretentious costumes while acting obnoxious and swearing and playing electric guitar (ie. "just noise") and singing (ie. yelling) brash, unsubtle "political" lyrics that rhyme like an eleven year old wrote them. But like all the other albums, it's a musical phase, and I still love Patrick's back-catalogue, and him as a musician, and as a person. And I respect and understand that some people are into that. So I'm going to stay put here and speak freely without being told I'm "Ew.", thank you very much. I know I'm probably being rude, and that you weren't even speaking to me. But you were a bitch to this poster guy just because he expressed an entirely valid opinion. What's that about? This is an artist forum, not a worship ground. Just because someone doesn't like parts of P Wolf's work - they have just as much right to be here as you do. An artist who changes the type of music he makes and his image with practically every album is going to end up with a load of fans who are into different things. Allow for that fact. And less of the personal attacks, please.
