Did he ever apologize for that whole drummer fiasco? He can't keep acting like this, people are going to start refusing him at venues.
I'm guessing he'll just be like "sorry if I scared anyone" on his Twitter or something and leave it at that. :/

Remember the whole "quitting music" thing? reference post ...NOTE: DO NOT reply to the thread at the link. If you do I'll get all moderator on yo' ass. I don't think these two situations are similar. All the media attention about the drummer incident was due to the above post and how it was interpreted. If he stays quiet now this will probably roll over the main media quietly.

Posted about this on LJ so I'll just c/p.
I don't blame Patrick for being so pissed, however, he needs to aim better! Haha. I would have been scared. THE WRATH OF PATRICK WOLF!
But, he's completely right - that was absolute bullshit.
BUT, Patrick can't always get his way. Something bad will happen one of these times and I hope he can control himself a little better next time.

Of course I remember but I see he didn't apologize for that either. Just awful.

Just heard about this... He had a right to be upset, I understand that he is frustrated they were ending his set early. The verbal outburst...well, it's not like he's the only music artist who curses like a sailor occasionally on stage. Just keep it down 'occasionally' please. But the throwing of equipment and the spitting? Not acceptable behavior.

well,I'not so sure but i think that if you're a bipolar the happiness you feel is real, and also sadness and rage, they're only excessive... And I think that it's not right speculating on Patrick feelings alluding to his presumed happiness or not...what do we know?
Said this,I'm quite sad for his behaviour last night...but instead of judging I'd like to hear what he has to say about this.

When he does shit like this it makes me feel slightly embarrassed to be a fan, how can he expect to be taken seriously when acting like that?

Oh my god that's so disgusting. I love Patrick so much, but when he does things like this i feel ashamed to be a fan. What a selfish twat, i can't believe his level of violence/aggression and he was endangering good friends like Victoria. It's petulant, childish and repulsive-how can he not realise how hideous it looks? He won't apologise, when things like this have happened before he never shows humility or remorse.Yuck.

I can only agree with most of you here, yes he is passionate and its good to care about your performance and you do get into a more emotional stage when doing it I guess. so getting angry is ok and annoyed cos your set was cut short of reasons beyond control. he put a lot of energy and work into it.
but nothing gives him the right to be verbally and physically abusive towards someone who is smaller then him and has no chance but to take it.
if he worked in a normal job like us his actions would had serious consequences and he'd possibly been sacked.
I had a previous manager raise his voice against me (not swearing and trowing stuff but shouting) and I have to say it was very very unpleasant and stays with you much longer. he had a written warning and aplologised but still things never got the same after that.

True. Which is partly the reason why I have no interest in helping fund his next album and entrusting a child with my money.

his concert was GREAT! for the first time in my life i saw him and he blew me away! and... besides forcing a band into do playback (no, i don't speak of the "strange steve". ha), what they did in the end is the greatest insult you can give an artist! ... (yes, my phone doesn't have a proper camera ) i want more. september/october seems to be an endless wait...

Okay, i'm not sure who Lana Lupin and Guesty Guest Guest ACTUALLY are, but it's totally pointless to make an account just to do that. Literally, if it's someone from here, why not just do it from your actual account?

So this is my first post here and the C O Pop Concert was my first Patrick Wolf Concert ever. It was a really magnificient wonderful concert I pretty much enjoyed. Magical (except the end of course). Except for the last 2 minutes, he was in a lovely mood, very friendly to the audiance. Before playing "Tristan" and "The Libertine" he talked about the city of Cologne, where the Germany-based label is from, with whom he released his first 2 CDs. He also thanked the german people for accepting him as he is and during Battle he went into and through the crowd.
Concerning the end, one has to say that this also is pretty much the fault of the organisers themself. The band who played before Patrick was due to come at 19:30, but came at about 19:45 to leave the stage for about 10 minutes after 2 songs and then came back to play 3 more songs. Patrick was due to begin at 20:30, but couldn´t start before about 20:50 due to the delay of the first band. I pretty much assume that 95 % of the people were there for Patrick and not for the first band. Thus I think, the organisers should either have cut short the set of the first band or should have allowed him to play 4 minutes longer. I mean 4 minutes?
I don´t say that I support his behaviour at the end and yes, I think he has overreacted, but I really have to say that I can understand him and his reaction. The audiance was in excellent mood after Accident & Emergency and he himself was also willing to give more. I think it would have been better, if Patrick would have talked calmly with the responsible person and then maybe play an acoustic version which would not be so loud. That would´ve been a greater solution maybe. On the other hand, I think it is really early for Cologne to say at 22:00 loud music is not allowed to be played in cities. As far as I know, in other german cities like Berlin or Dueseldorf it is midnight.
Most of the audiance people stayed for about 20 minutes after Patrick left the stage, hoping for him to come back. When I left the place at about 22:20 I could hear quite loud music just a 2 miutes walk away. It was another concert by the same organisers (there were several concerts at different places), which was in a tent or a building. Well....
Anyway, I´m looking forward to see him at Muenster at the end of September. :-) I think people shouldn´t speculate so much about him maybe. I can imagine how demanding the tour life is and it probably was a very long day for him. Next day he had Hamburg and today Gothenbourg. So I think it´s understandable though I don´t say it´s ok. "Battle without war" :-)

I just like to add a link to a concert review from the "Kölner Stadtanzeiger". Unfortunately it is in german. They write quite objective about the concert I think. They also conclude that it would have been better not to invite the first band (former lead singer of 80s band Visage), who they describe as poor und quite bad. Instead they say the organisers should have allowed Patrick to play his last song. www.ksta.de/html/artikel/1246883783024.shtml

(yes, my phone doesn't have a proper camera ) but the photos are beautiful anyway! A brilliant child... Maybe we should separate the man from the artist. I'm the first one who,in some cases (like this) can't do it...anyway.I don't want to defend him,I don't like what he did in Cologne, but before calling him a twat,a stupid and so on,I try to remember why I love him so much, and it's not only for the music, but also for the things he says and thinks, for him being so sweet and lovely to me and the other fans last night (8th of August) in Italy...he surely has this dark side that I can't comprehend but I,we don't know him so well to judge him so badly as a person... The episode with the drummer was less serious,IMO,I can understand more if he didn't apologize. This time I'd like to hear some apologizes, maybe he will make them, who knows...I don't think that he's so pretentious like someone says,he had been able to retrace his steps in the past.

just wanna say i love patrick's music and he's been nothing but nice and kind towards me. also I admire him as an artist and he had every right to be upset and annoyed and make a stand. and the organisers could ahve cut the previous band shorter instead. they possibly had their licence given only till a certain time so if they went over as it wasnt in a tent but open air they would ahve had big troubles.
what i meant is that even in the circumstances you should not be abusive towards staff. he could have refused to go off stage and do and acousic version etc...

Well i just watched the video and quite frankly it is repulsive.
The words he came out with was unnacceptable.
Just when you think the whole 'Patrick Wolf is a twat' thing that people think is going away he does this.
I love him as much as anybody he is my favourite artist but i find it hard to respect him sometimes )=
Of course hes upset though but that reaction is vulgar!Attacking someone and throwing equipment.
I agree with what some people have said i think there is something deeper to this. The 'Happy Patrick' is bullshit.I would love for him to be happy but im just having flashbacks of The Magic Position Tour.)=
