Hi all,
Long time no post; - very much enjoyed the Heaven show, and being a bandstocker since it was first announced, I've been following the bookings around Manchester venues waiting for him to confirm his next date. Two questions:
1. Any idea as to why he switched from playing Manchester Academy 2, to the overpriced and overrated 'Ritz', with its terrible PA system?
2. Why are bandstock holders being forced to pay ticketmaster ridiculous fees; - would it have taken too much of an effort to allow us a presale link to the local box-office, or even the venue box-office. - I'm sorry if it sounds rude, but I think it's poor manners to have people pay for special treatment, which, in reality are not special treatment at all, but a ploy to make ticketmaster a small extorted fortune.
On the second point, I'll hold out for box office tickets; I hope if there's future tour plans, Bandstocks & Patrick's tour management could get together and sort something that benefits us all, I'd rather pay the service charge to someone working for Patrick's tour management directly, than to Ticketmaster.

I have to say i really hate having to pay those fees as well. I have called the Electric ballroom to see if their box office will sell tickets to the London date but the answer was probably not as it depends on the promoter. and the promoter decided to do the sale through ticketmaster now on a £15 ticket they charge £3.50 service charge and £5 for registered post. it's more then 50% surcharge! and all agencies do that!

Yeah two tickets for London is nearly £50. That's ridiculous.

I must have missed this thread when it was first written... But i totally agree with your second point. The thing which gets me is that the whole idea of Bandstocks is that an artist can be free from the whole music industry way of going about things, and the fact that the tickets are being sold by Ticketmaster, for me, contradicts this in a way.
I don't know, i don't think i'm annoyed at the fact that its because Bandstock holders have to go about it this way, but just more the fact that its been done this way at all. The fact that your charged £3 for simply buying tickets, and then an extra £5 on top of that for postage... It just seems so, well, typical of the music industry.
Then again, i know nothing about selling tickets or anything, so maybe this was the best way to get them to people and the easiest. I do agree also though that i'd rather the money go to Patricks management that the people who own Ticketmaster.

It seems an excessive amount. They get away with it because there is no other choice. I have succumb to buying two because I would quite like to go and bring a friend along. But over £20 each, my god! Better be good lol! (want to see something at Electric Ballroom before it gets shut down, so Im looking forward to it).
I swear I've used ticket sites that don't charge quite so much. Guess thats not the point though.
