huge grower. i liked it on that live mp3 from a couple of summers.. but i didn't like it the first time on record..
but now i love it - its so much better with a bit of brass behind it.. and the starting notes (the duh duh duh at the beginning) reminds me a little of his remix of 7 minutes..
but yeah very happy ;D and i like the autoharp and the way that its so confusing that i have no idea what kind of instuments are being played.......

I prefer the vocals on the live version, but prefer the recorded version musically...

It's a great song.
I'm not generally into overtly "happy" music but I think the joy here is very soulful and real. I love anything with brass, haha that'll be down to my Neutral Milk Hotel and Belle and Sebastian obssessions!
My only moan about the track would be it might be a little sonically cluttered.

8-bit, 8-bit, 8-bit.
Anything that sounds like Mario jumping onto a toadstool used in a song pretty much grabs my heart.

I like the song untill it gets too computergame sounding, then there is just too much bleeping for my taste. another song I like much better how he played it live. during the WITW tour.

This is one of my favourites on the album. It's great and the super mario sound at the end ... great.

the brass worked wonderfully last night. he even got his solo on. the beats, along with drums, the strings, such a combination of sound.

i played it at school on friday and everyone loved it though, they all hated The Magic Position and they were too stupified by the "emrgencyyyyyyy" on A&E

i felt SO disappointed listening to it. it can't even compare to the version i heard at the album chart so. i think it's very weak out of the three songs i've now heard (the magic position, get lost and overture; overture being the best of all three.)
it's very busy and it doesn't really work in my mind. i think that the brass solo should have been left to the live shows as a spontaneous outburst in song rather than put it in a song and make it orderly.

Does anyone have it on MP3?
I already adore the lyrics to it.

It's so catchy. It's just one of those song's that I can't help screaming along and dancing in my bedroom to. (But most of his songs make me like that)

hey has anyone else noticed that right at the end (-0.08 according to my ipod) you can hear a little voice say 'stop'...
or is that just me?

(But most of his songs make me like that) my sentiments exactly, had the "we could go to the cinema.. leave our bikes down at the sta-TION" line in my head all day, really clappy along song too. smiles all round.
