I can understand if people feel the need to talk during gigs but it's pretty disrespectful to Patrick and the crowd who actually want to pay attention to the show. Am I too late with asking for a coaster ?

He mixed Bluebells with something, I can't remember what. Umm, yeah, I'd like to re-iterate Patrick's declarative of 'fuck you Ingrid.' Basically he left before he'd properly finished the set; it was supposed to end on The Magic Position, but like Graham mentioned to me, it was doubtful he would have been able to do that after what happened. Everyone along the front was drunk, everyone at the back was drunk - they had a little rabble and were shouting and laughing, and Patrick had to stop during The Libertine (I think) to tell them to be quiet or he'd finish right then and there. I have to say, because of the Augustine incident, the performance itself was riveting; he played that song with such passion and vitriol. The anger was rather painfully stretched across his face, and it was so intense to watch. That particular song performance was one of the best I've ever seen him do, I couldn't take my eyes off him. And then after that was done, he moved onto a new song called The Days, which was incredibly beautiful. And when he introduced that, his head was bowed and he was mumbling. And all the way through the song he looked very sad, it got a bit difficult to watch - he was pouring his heart out and we were all there either gawping at him or completely ignoring him to get more free alcohol. It made me feel uncomfortable to be in that crowd. And then he finished that and left. And it was over. It was wonderful, a lovely setting and a very beautifully thought out setlist. He played Paris; I have videos of that and Pigeon Song. - Ed Larrikin was there. - Bishi looked fit as. - I saw some of you and once again was too rubbish to say hello....Meryl, and, um, Jay? Was Sibz there? The girl with blonde hair and glasses, taking pictures at the side, looked a lot like her. - Thank you Graham. First off, that sounds amazing. Except maybe the drunken crowd, sorry about that. Secondly Graham who? (hmmm Sarah, are you from Kent by any chance?)

Did I really... oh, I am sorry. I am kind of braindead and have no memory. For some reason I periodically think that you're someone else and that you've been keeping it from us for a long time.

good idea, you should watch it when you're in a mediocre mood.

i just don't know how he managed to carry on like that... wow The look on his face towards the end of Augustine suggested he kind of realised he wasn't going to let it take him down, and he was going to play the hell out of the song to 'show' them. He wrote the songs in response to a relationship, he shared them all with us because he wanted to, and he looked unfaltering in that last chorus. He got louder and more powerful as the heckling and screaming went on. Shame the video missed out the last part of the song: 'do I kill you tonight?' This description sounds soooo good. That was most definitely one of the most painful videos I've ever seen. PS- Victoria, that is what elbows are for.

Oh my. That was simultaneously painful and enrapturing, showing exactly how strong a performer he is. Ooo err now I am in an odd mood and doubt I can sleep.

i just watched the Augustine video. That's one of the most depressing films i've seen to date. My heart is heavy...today has been a horrible day, I shouldn't have watched it but I was curious. It was so powerful... and so saddening.

Always being the slow one, I've only just watched the Augustine video... Yeah, everyone's already said the things that I was going to say.
I'm glad that there were at least some people there who wanted to watch him perform, but since watching the video was so horrible, I can't imagine what it must have been like to have seen it all happen live (I don't need to imagine, I've read everyone's accounts, but you know what I mean).

Thanks Sibz, you're marvellous!
I just watched the Augustine video and eek, I doubt I'll be watching that again. It must have been so awkward, but more importantly very upsetting to see Patrick so sad. I think carrying on was brilliant of him.

The more I say I'm not going to watch the video again, the more I watch the video.
