I'm a fake-northern, but I'll be there... Row F. Although it's on the 27th, not the 28th, right?
Do you have any idea what the venue's like?

Seated and lacking in atmosphere, but pretty enough.

Most likely, though I'm a bit dubious about it being all seated, reckon it'd kill the atmosphere. I'm maybe opting to go to Leicester instead, it's not too far away.

Aren't pretty much all the venues seated? He's playing theatres for a reason, and it's not just because most of them are all-ages. It's not a mosh in glitter kind of tour - concerts rather than gigs. Leicester is seated too.

PS The reason why I think Sheffield has no atmosphere is because it's laid out as a concert hall, so it doesn't have the atmosphere that a proscenium arch theatre would if you don't have a full band or orchestra on stage. Seth Lakeman's band worked really well in the space, but Billy Bragg solo and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings as a duo got lost a bit up there.

Row C. Thought it was kind of near the front but got there and realised it was front row right by the piano, yaaaay!!!!!! I think it was really well laid out but it kind of pissed me off that we had to wait longer but it happens quite a lot. First ever concert/gig! Was very impressed. Also noticed him looking at my shoes hehehehe

OH GOD. it was amazing. the show was like no other gig i've ever been to; really intimate, hushed - some songs were so powerful, people were crying out in pleasure, then nobody clapping at the end, not wanting to break the silence. he emerged from a door at the side of the hall like a mythical creature - calling, silencing the audience "Hey HO!....Hey HO!", then proudly stepped out, quietly plucking his viola, "Jacob's ladder is falling down..." Dressed like a gyspy pirate, he marched slowly, like part a funeral procession stamping his way to the stage... by the end of most of the songs nobody dared mover - everything was so still and everyone in awe.. except the end - the ecstatic Magic Position, and Spice Girls medley .. oh dear. haha. telling us stories of instruments, songs, relatives and gremlins at the bottom of the garden, he worked his way through his best songs, pausing for requests and questioning the audience's understanding of certain songs. i only wish it was longer. one disappointment was that even after some of us fans waited until 00.45 this morning for him to bound out the stage door, he proceeded to cover himself in a fur coat and dash out a different door to the bus, then promptly drive away. but i dont care. because its Patrick, and he's a popstar, he can do what he likes. the show was perfect. photos: Dev helping him tune his guitar: the encore: the bow:

I was there too. It was slightly upsetting. I think more so because the woman pretty much told us that he would be coming out, and then nothing. But I honestly honestly don't care. He has every right, bless his little socks. Even if it did mean my friend and I had to walk an hour across Sheffield in the freezing cold at 1am. Hah.

haha we didnt get a lift until half 1 , so we were trapesing round Sheffield till then! gutting. but yeah, he has every right not to see us, and it apparently very rare when he will. he remains enigmatic and unreachable...but ive got so much to say to him

I know! I brought him a gift and everything!
What I would have liked, is for someone to have told us that he wasn't coming out. I would have been fine with that, and would have been able to toddle along to the bus-stop for an easy night. But for the woman to say "Now don't you all rush him when he comes out" and get my hopes up and then have them dashed... somewhat worse.
But yes. His perogative.

AAAAAAAAAH! I need Tuesday again! I'm having withdrawal symtoms! It was a brilliant show, and I got to wear glitter and lipstick below my eyes which was nice! The stampy thing at the begining was so random! I loved it though! I was sitting behind the piano which I felt a wee bit miffed about but Patrick seemed to sympathise with us! He was playing the aah I can't remember the name - the small organ thing that he couldn't fit the legs in his case for - "I'm sorry, you guys can't see, but baisicly I'm just writhing about on the floor!" lol. Thank you Patrick! I'll post my pics and videos shortlyyyy...
