So we are now down to 19 days till the show!
Consider this my cry of desperation, I need a ride.
I am a college student trapped on campus without a car and dying of anxiety to see Patrick. I am only like 25 minutes out of Hollywood, not a long drive (however, it would be a long walk).
I thought I would reach out to the forum and see if there are any kind souls, who wouldn't mind driving to pick me up, and then join me to see Patrick's show.
I would pay for gas, no question, and if a little more money for the trouble is needed, I am willing.
thanks.
xx

I dunno, it isn't about the actual show, more a personal plea for help.

but most of the people on the community room part of the forum don't really care about patrick wolf that much, or are from the uk...
(just an observation)

i'd suggest to move it to the "patrick wolf" part of the forum, i think you'd have better luck there!
or perhaps Michael might move this thread...

What about a coach bus or something? School campuses are usually a popular place for busses....at least they are here.

(also in the other thread...)
according to el ray's site, the theatre is right along the 20 busline. according to la metro's site, it's right along the 20, 720, and 920. (where these buses actually stop, and when, i'm to confused/lazy to figure out)
i'll be busing from the union train station to get there, but i'm spending the night in west hollywood (i think), up at the end of La Ciengea, across Sunset where the roads get all squiggly. miller drive, to be exact.
if you're heading that way i'd be happy to split a cab with you if it's convenient/cheaper. but are you at UCLA? (cause then it's pretty of out of your way) (and if anyone's driving that way, i'm hinting for a ride, heh heh.)
i've never been to LA before, so I'm basing all my plans on google maps at the la metro PDF.
and my plans are subject to change. so.

number one rule: DO NOT GO TO HOLLYWOOD AND HIGHLAND, YOU'LL GET LAUGHED AT BY THE LOCALS WHO GO THERE TO LAUGH AT TOURISTS AND MISLEAD THEM (like me) and since you're on the wolfboard, THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN. shopping-wise, the grove and melrose are pretty good places to go. the best fried chicken in LA is at reddi chick at the brentwood country mart. a good place for italian is girasole on larchmont (and it's walking distance from my school ) or e.baldi on canon (but ebaldi is ridiculously expensive, but it is the best italian food you will ever have). for mexican, kaye n daves (it's across from the country mart, so you could have fried chicken then a burrito! hooray!). for a spectacular view of LA, drive up mullholland. don't affiliate yourself in any way with a startours bus (unless you're flipping them off.) driving down the sunset strip is always good fun, but i get really traumatized when i see the empty ghost of tower records. if you drive through the flats of beverly hills, you can probably see me dancing in the middle of the street with cars dodging me. ps. most of the places i'm talking about are on opposite sides of town. sorry. pps. book soup on sunset is the best bookstore ever, hands down. ppps. tell me if you want any directions/more places to go specified.

wow thanks for all that. i'll definitely check out that bookstore. bookstores are my favorite.
all i know is that i really wanna go to the La Brea Tar Pits. i once saw a picture of those mammoth statues (where one is being sucked into the tar while his wife and child watch and they're all screaming) and it's haunted me ever since. so i want to see it for real.
oh and i want to play in warm ocean water (what a novel concept!), where can i do that?
and no use in my trying to hid the fact i'm a tourist, i'll be carrying my suitcase around with me and my camera around my neck.

did you know that since la brea means "the tar" in spanish, when people say the la brea tar pits they really are saying the the tar tar pits? I GET SUCH A KICK OUT OF THAT.
and i recommend going to santa monica if you want to frolic in the ocean. pier 18 surf camp! AWW YEAH.
