Please don't request or post mp3s of these songs - they're all available from Miles the Merchandise Cat at www.patrickwolf.com/badges.html, but remember he's on tour at the moment: Patrick Wolf EP ("Pumpkin Soup" and "Empress") The Libertine 7" vinyl single ("Afraid") The Libertine CD single ("Penzance") Wind In The Wires 7" vinyl single ("Ignis Fatuus") Wind In The Wires CD single ("Souvenirs" and "Godrevy Point") Which is your favourite "B-side"? Do you think there are any that should have been on an album?

what about the hairy song? Oh, sugar! Forgot about that one. I suppose I can get away with it by saying "it wasn't officially released on a tangible format". Heheh. It is a very good song though.

i think empress is one of patricks best songs ever. the beat, the bassline and the vocals... great!

Can anyone confirm that the intro to 'Empress' features a snatch of 'Frere Jaques', and that I'm not imagining it? I'd search for a credit on the record cover if I thought there'd be one, but copyright would have ended on that song, erm, centuries ago, and my eyes spazz out when I look at the cover anyway.
I think I voted for 'Pumpkin Soup', because it's a really cute song, and was one of the first Patrick songs I heard (behind 'To The Lighthouse' and 'A Boy Like Me'), so it has a special place for me.
His b-sides have all been amazing, though.
Cheerio, Michael. xxx

Penzance.
I love the piano, Patrick's voice, Patrick's singing, the melody, the lyrics, the sounds and the wild-romantic melancholy. <bowing_down>

To be honest, I only could vote for a song I'd heard... so I chose "Godrevy Point". Had the opportunity to hear Pumpkin Soup and Empress once: for as far as I remember they where great, and I loved that child's voice at the end of Pumpkin Soup "hurry up", or something... bad sound though: seems it was a vinyl recording?!?

I will have to wait with voting until I've heard Ignis Fatuus. I have a feeling that I will love it.
Right now, my favourite is Godrevy Point (which I've only heard in a patrick-performs-on-radio-version)...

I must admit that I haven't heard all of the B-sides for Wind in the Wires yet, but Souvenirs is fantastic. That's where my vote is lying today.

Such a tough question. I voted for pumpkin soup as I absolutely adore that song, but the XFM 'godrevy point' is amazing and I can't wait to here the recorded version.
