I've got my copy - if you've not got yours and anyone is planning to spend more than £50 in Tesco you can get the book for a fiver.
That was a happy surprise. And now I'll bid you farewell, for I am about to bury my nose in a book, sipping the fruit cider/eating the food from the picnic I won't be going to this afternoon because everywhere is underwater.

I got "the book" last night and am now on page 211, somewhere in chapter eleven. I couldn't eat breakfast 'cause I was reading and I couldn't put the book down! xD

I concur. James/Sirius is much more plausible in my mind. Though, Sirius/Harry creeps me out in a big way. There are weirder things crawling internet blogs, I'm sure. Personally I'm hoping Lucius Malfoy goes out in a fittingly spectacular form - he's the character we most love to hate blates. I got my copy for £7, courtesy of little sister deciding to spend a tenner in Woolworths, House of Crap, this morning. According to news reports this book is set to be the best selling book ever - Harry Potter is clearly better than Jesus then.

Best thing ever is that, when I woke up this morning, I biked about 3 miles and picked up my HP book. I'm a few chapters in...
(we have friends who own a bookstore. They stashed it for us under their counter, so...) No waiting line with the rioting folks at Barnes and Noble for me (like I did last time! I had a kick ass outfit, though. The skirt and the tie and the robes and all that.)

Ahaha, it was good times hanging out at Barnes and Noble last night. I didn't go until like 10:30, but that was alright. My friend and I looked at all their HP merchandise and I lamented not having money for anything. And then we just started looking at books. After midnight when we had to wait for our letter to be called to get them, we sat down in front of the sex section. Let me tell you. I think the book was called "Guide to Getting It On" and it was amazing. Along with the "Carma Sutra". There was much entertainment to be had.
And then I only made it through 100 pages last night before I was too exhausted. WOE. I'm reading so slowly too, gah. :-\

Huzzah! I've finished the thing! Took six and a half hours and no sleep, but tis done. Finally, I can go on the interwebz without fear of spoilers.
And also: Did anyone else dress up for the occasion? I went as Tonks and my friend won the contest as Neville.

On the way there, my friend Tati, her older sister and I were singing Harry and the Potters songs very loudly and passionatly. Then at the party, they had the whole sorting thing with Prefects for each house, and the Prefects were seriously the most hilarious Potter fans ever. They were so into it. It was great.
I also had my palm read and met this kid I used to go to elementary school with! And we were chatting about the good old days. And HP7 predictions of course.
There were some intense trivia questions as well, and I was too impatient to wait to get sorted so I just followed around the Slytherins and Gryffindors. I helped my friend Tati give out DA and Dark Mark stamps, which I still have on my arm. They're pretty rad looking.
I also ate a tasty Slim Jim while waiting in line to get my book.
And then we got it. And everyone cheered. And on the way home my friend read the last chapter of Half-Blood Prince out load and it was quite emotional. And now I am on chapter 7. It was a nice night.
But I am going to be so slow with finishing this thing...

Damn. I don't understand how you people manage this non-stop reading... I am quite enjoying it so far though.
...But I admit I skimmed through the epilogue because I couldn't help myself. It's ADORABLE, really.

I wanted to stay up all night SO BADLY, but then I was much too tired for that, so I fell asleep at 4. And then I woke up again at 8, because I was all OMGHARRYPOTTER. After futilely trying to sleep, I got up and read another 100 pages. I fail at life so much. I'm probably not going to finish until sometime tonight. I hope we can start discussing the book now, though! Because I love that more than anything. SO, IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT? SPOILERS AHEAD! I know I plan to give a review once I'm done. Likely for my own benefit. And to snicker about certain children's names in the epilogue...

I'm enjoying the read, but it's so bleak I keep taking breaks. I'm not going to post spoilers (not even fake silly ones) but my god - it's taken a bloody long time for the book to reveal what the deathly hallows are.

I quite literally read until dawn. I was reading reading reading and when I was just too tired I decided to stop for the night, so I turned out the light... and there was still light in the room because the sun was busy rising.
I also read really fast.

I've just finished it.
It was so so so good... Are we allowed to talk about it now?

YES, PLEASE TALK ABOUT IT. I'm only halfway through though. I just went to a wedding reception. I did, however, bring the book with me and made it through two chapters in two hours. I find this amazing considering all the noise and distractions of eating and talking to relatives and things.. Hah, my dad got me a glass of wine, and I was just sitting there, reading Harry Potter, drinking wine.. Well, I was amused. And at least two people came up to me and were like "IS THAT HARRY POTTER?" Yes, yes it is..
