Terrorism sucks. I am slightly scared of London (well, the underground anyway) as it is, minus terroism. I don't like the underground either, well not because after what happened 2005 (?). Just because they are so..tiny, and so much people, and gah. Just annoying.

I actually said to my mum that if I was a terrorist this would be the best time to attack. right you are my number one suspect right now. the nightclubs were to be blown up because clubbers are 'slags' apparantly Damn, foiled! *sneaks out of country* That's really sad about the clubbers though - sometimes it kind of makes me angry that people have such twisted views of life in the Western world.

Terrorists for the lose? (nonsense!) Actually, I don't know what the means... The is smilie code on MSN for a thumbs down. It really hurts me that I know that. It was a bit scary seeing pictures of the airport literally a few miles from my house ON FIRE. Thankfully no one was hurt, and I'm glad it happened then, a week before I go to Belgium. However, I think the whole message of this: don't fuck with the Scots. We have tough as shit airport walls, innit? Big Gordy B will be shitting it.

I think I should, like, watch the international new or something.
Or read some internet news stories.
What on earth's happening there?

every 5 seconds in london somewhere is evacuated. we went on a school trip to convent garden and our year split up to shop etc. and 5 groups were evacuated from shops/stores.. and police with massive machine guns.. it seems quite surreal the feeling in london - you don't ever think that it will happen to you

The car/bomb/fire thing in Glasgow was not very well planned, I think it was just some kids (or young aduts) trying to raise havok. If they actually meant to kill people they would've planned it better.
edit: that sounds like they hardly did anything, they were trying to harm people and it was slightly dangerous but not well planned.

over in the news here they said it was 2 middle aged indian men caused the car bomb at the airport and that a doctor in Brisbane was the cousin of the two indian men and is being questioned. I doubt the doctor would know anything about it.

I don't know much about British news right now (damm holidays) but I think you're right about the doctor not knowing anything.

Glasgow bomb type person was from my hometown. Yay, now i feel safe. I dare say that the collective peoples of Glasgow feel slightly less safe than you, knowing someone just tried to destroy our airport.

When I was on vacation and I heard about this, I thought to myself "yikes, i hope no one on the wolfboard was hurt." and then i thought "i bet they are posting a topic about this."
Terrorism seems so completely impossible to combat without living in a police state. I don't like this. I can imagine how scared you all feel, I live near DC, and every time I ride the metro I think "hey, is someone going to blow this up? clearly they could do it without much effort since there aren't ANY security measures worth mentioning." Also, my dad works within blocks of the capital/whitehouse/nationalmall. i dislike this. why can't we go back to the age of using spears for fighting?

i think people generally need to accept the fact that terrorism is never going to be something that is just entirely wiped out. plans can be thwarted, but there'll always be something going down, whether its in your hometown or 50,000 miles away. it's a global issue, it's just that nobody really notices until it hits them, personally.
i'm all for the safety of others, but this "war on terror" is bullshit. it's always been around. we can't live our lives in fear of it.
wouldn't you kind of say that militaries are terrorists of sorts?

I went to Inverness airport the other day and seeing that there were police there was slightly out of the ordinary for Inverness. I've always sort of felt safe up this far north with not many large cities that near. But I guess since what happened at Glasgow airport...

Yeah it is pretty freaky about the fact that you can just go for a walk and get blown up but theres lots of other people in the world who are in way more dangerous situations. This may sound very corny but i think the good thing about the British public is that most of them continue their day to day things and don't let terrorists win and stop them from doing stuff.
Ohh i'm going to stop preeching now
