um. but that is just a different kind of lifestyle, and you aren't really accepting it. i am semi-offended by that statement. Are people misunderstanding my meaning? I honestly can't believe people are so accepting of a lifestyle that condones complete control over another person. Also, if you read the following sentence, I explain myself right there. In my own personal philosophy I'm totally accepting of any lifestyle that doesn't hurt anyone or take away anyone else's free will. These women are entering into these strange surrendering unions out of choice remember.. It sounds pretty fucked up. But still its there choice, I just accept I can't forced my ideas on them, and they are still my fellow humans so I have the same respect for them as anyone else. (god I sound wet, kill me now)

Maybe if you heard some of them talking about the whole ideology:
eg. "Women should be looking after their husbands." "men should be the provider" "Women should do whatever their husbands tell them to" etc.
I think the clues in the "surrendered" part in "surrendered wives".
All in all, I find these views abhorent and awful. I think people forget that women can be sexist about their own gender.
And anyway, I reserve my right to have my own opinions about what is and what isn't a great philosophy. I'm not being anymore judgemental than a person who goes to anti-war demonstrations! To be fair, I've articulated myself horribly, so apologies for any misunderstandings that may have/ are like to occur. I'm crap at explaining myself.
PS: CHRIST! I'm not forcing my views on anyone! I'm having a healthy debate about something I do not particularly agree with. I'm so sick of discussions being halted by "but it's not your chocie to make", "You can't force it..." I KNOW THAT. But I'm allowed to talk about the issue, goddamit.

I think people forget that we're all sexist, because we live in a sexist society. It might just not be obvious.

Also, we're all very ethnocentric, living in Western society and comparing what we know to places where the culture is extremely different.

Agreed. We ARE all sexist. But I try to challenge my views every day. Just like I try to challenge any stupid, racist stereotypes I may hold or whatever.

Yeah I'm totally unoffended by anything you've said on all that, I just thought I'd throw my own opinion out there. I respect your views and all that. But until these strange women start attempting to force other women against their will into this lifestyle, I personally won't be getting worked up about it.
