well i know in other parts of the us, they call soda "pop", which is just weird. . We call it 'pop' where I'm from, in the North East of England; in Glasgow, they call it 'juice', which is just not correct. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

"Juice" covers a multitude of sins - I didn't even realise people didn't call it "juice"! Seems dead weird to me.

Cheerio, Michael. xxx I dunno, I wouldn't say there was any specific name for it. I just say what drink I'm having, or 'the fizzy stuff'. Pop and soda sound silly to me. Did someone ask about we say when foodhas gone bad? Usually just 'it's gone off' or 'rotten'.

I THOUGHT YOU WERE BRITISH. Try harder! ' Oops? Haha. I don't know how else to make myself sound American, then. We'll just have to settle for spelling. :D

haha I thought this thread was about "Region 1 and Region 2" related things.
I hate that I can't watch Region 2 DVDs on my laptop anymore.

Doesn't anybody just say "soft drink" or "fizzy drink" instead of soda or pop, or juice?

I cannot express how hard it was for me to adjust to living in the Sates. "WHAT'S A ROUNDABOUT?! DO YOU LIVE IN AN IGLOO?!!?!?!" An igloo? Oh my. Well, you'll be happy to know that some americans do know what a roundabout is. I lived very near a (small) one, and had to drive through it daily. Also, in Bend, OR, they prefer roundabouts to traffic lights.

Oh god. I hooked up with an American guy recently, and it was kind of a novelty talking about the cultural differences at first. But now it's just like. SHUT UP. Pronounce my tube stop right you twat! Still, I've learned invaluable things, such as that they don't have Lucozade or Vimto in the States, and "a hit" doesn't refer to heroin . Jx

Ever. My high school had kids from the neighbouring town as well, and it only had 800.. my year being the largest, which was an anomally.
