(And I typically don't make threads on forums. The two I've made thus far are really uncharacteristic of me. ) I was reading the beautiful person thread and decided that it is time. It is time for an appreciation thread. Sundlandic Twins has been my soundtrack for all my summers since it came out, and, in retrospect, for many in the past.

I cannot even begin to explain how much I love them and everything they've ever done. Sunlandic Twins has become my most played cd I think, and Hissing Fauna is catching up. They are playing in Barcelona tomorrow with Malajube for only 12 euros, but the train/plane there costs around 200 euros so I can't go. I almost had a breakdown.
They had better come back to England when I return in July.
I annoy everyone at home (well, I say everyone, about 4 people) by playing at least two of montreal songs on every radio show I do. And then proceed to gush about how amazing they are and how I want kevin's babies and we'll get married and bp will be the best man. It saddens me so much to think that this can't happen.
So much love for them.

Oh boo! That really sucks. I'm glad they're American and will thus be coming back around eventually. I would listen to that radio show. They aren't played on the radio here often enough-- that is, once every few months.

Hehe you can soon! It's on the internet too. I am on hiatus due to a study abroad thingamy, but I will be back in October, with lots of kevin and patrick and many exciting things. It's the most fun ever being a radio presenter. My friend and I just have our usual bizarre conversations, play the music we love, interview local bands and even make up odes to our friends and perform them on air. Hilarity ensues etc... Plus you get gig tickets and free cds as soon as they get released. Of montreal are never ever played on normal radio here, so that's why I ensure they get the most coverage I can get away with giving them! I also always put it on the clever downloady jukebox thing in our union. I think I've only converted a couple of people though. I must try harder!

I absolutely love the new album. I'm listening to it now. They never really grabbed my attention before this record. It could be those trips to Moogie Wonderland that sparked off an interest but I do remember listening to them a bit before and not thinking as much. Anyway, I will download that album you just put up to compare and give it a rating soon enough.

The Of Montreal concert I saw in March was the highlight of my spring. I didn't actually listen to them until a friend burned a whole bunch of cds for me a few months ago. I'm glad he did.
Of Montreal are surreally wonderful.
