It freaks me out, especially the ads on my livejournal page. There must be a spy hiding in my computer somewhere.

Well, the ad does say the word pet.
I hope it's a Russian spy. How exciting!

My mum breeds from her two boxer bitches. Last year's litter had one white pup who was profoundly deaf. He was impossibly cute and mum taught him respond to a simple sign language. After saying 'NO MORE DOGS' (they already had four) my Dad wouldn't let her sell him so they kept him. He runs around the farm with a big bell on his collar so we know where he is. He's incredibly spoiled. I was trying to have a conversation with my dad a couple of months ago and this happened:

I am getting a kitty!!! I will have a kitten or cat by the end of July... Either it will be the kitten I really want.. depends on if the woman is willing to wait until the little thing is 12 weeks.. I won't take it earlier.. Otherwise, I will be adopting a cat from the pound. I am so excited!

Kittens get weird. They could turn into biters, get sick a lot, pee on stuff, etc if they are taken too early..
I think I am just going to adopt a stray from the pound. I feel all worried about taking a kitten.. I want one, but I think I'd rather get one that is already potty trained and grown.

You don't have to potty train them.

The other thing I like about adopting from a pound is that they have all their shots and are spayed or neutered. At least, the pound here does. Yes, you have to pay a bit to adopt them, but having all that done already is much more convenient.
When I was little, we got a couple of kittens too early. One was peeing everywhere and the other was obsessed with anything nipple like and sucked on blankets all day. It was sad. The peeing one was given to my grandmother and she somehow was able to get him to stop and the other my father still has. He's still a little weird, but he has gotten better. He's like 11 or 12 years old now.

you let the dog on the table? and you live on a farm? that must be nice! He's not meant to be on the table, obviously, but I kept telling him to get down which he ignored, being deaf and all. I couldn't touch him because I'm allergic and my dad couldn't push him down because he's disabled and the dog was pinning down the one arm he can move... I don't live on a farm, my parents do but I live in a village about sixty miles from them with just the one cat, as opposed to their four dogs, three cats, ponies, sheep (none of which are called wee shitey) ducks and chickens. This is not a pet; this is a 'gift' my pet left at my bedroom door:

When I get another dog, I'm definitely adopting. The things I've read about puppy farms are terrible. And my dog came from one of them in the Midwest.

but you always end up paying for it in the form of shots and things.
i always like rescuing animals instead of adopting them. i mean, its like you mean so much more to them, and they mean more to you.

FernandoBOT, i am in love with that cat. You know what you should do? Buy a laser thing that responds to sounds. I got one and my cat loves/hates it. He'll spend hours chasing it.
