I second that emotion!
So, who did I meet?
Patrick was incredible last night - he played a fair few songs that I wasn't expecting, too, which was nice. 'Afraid', 'Pumpkin Soup', 'Penzanze' and a new song called 'Magpie', which he played on the soprano uke.
I was very impressed by the new band set up - I was all prepared for 'Tristan' to be a lot weaker than it is on the album, but it was fantastic with the new drums, as were 'London' and 'Paris'.
We spoke to him after the show - he was very sweet, and didn't mock me profusely for asking to have my CD signed.
As you can imagine, I'm a very happy (if a little sleepy, and put-out that I have to go to a Sociology tutorial) boy this morning!
Cheerio, Michael. xxx

Michael Bush: "We spoke to him after the show - he was very sweet, and didn't mock me profusely for asking to have my CD signed." How did he react when you asked? Also, what songs did he play? If you can remember?

I wish i could have stayed after the show We had to leave right after The Libertine because we would have missed the train. damn. Still, it was brilliant. Who were the support act? i could make out what he was saying. They were rather...um...odd.

Lots of people left early because they had to get trains back, which was a shame.
It was very nice to finally meet this person whose creative output has affected me deeply, and he was every bit as pleasant and decent as you would think.
The set was full of lovely suprises, and all my favourites were played (with the exception of "Wolf Song", but everything else more than made up for it).
The support act were called Desc, and although they were not my cup of tea they were very impressive in creating a full sound, for a duo. I liked their use of percussion in particular.
