i've re-scheduled my holiday. but the only dissapointment is i'll have to go to ebay to get tickets for both of the shows in london. Thats where we'll be most likely staying at. i wouldn't think of it as a support though. i think i must die in october because thats heaven. would any of you's go?

That's brilliant news for Patrick - it's such a big tour and should hopefuly raise his profile big style. My only worry would be that the new-breed of Bloc Party fans might not be hugely open-minded. I've been to see quite a few BIG HEADLINE BANDS who have chosen interesting and slightly not-the-libertines-jnr support bands and they have sometimes been booed off and jeered at. But I guess it's worth it evenin if you only manage to get 5 people to fall madly in love. Or something.

You ARE Maddy from the BP forum, aren't you?! Ahem, I'm not e-stalking you or anything... heh yeah i am. I sent you a PM on the bloc party forum about patrick. and abstract boy "love your photos" but yeah thats happened a couple of times with some bands. I'm a bit unsure just yet as their are some bloc party fan's who are the ones that like to be called emo's and their not too opened minded as their more into the american punk rock scene. I can understand why they've got Patrick Wolf as a support, as some of their songs are a bit more meaningful and pretty (like patricks music) and half of the bloc party fans are very much into those . but by october i'm sure bloc party fans will be a lot more open minded too music. I've been reading a lot of the new fans posts on their forum and it seems bloc party are their first indie band to get themselves into. so yeah, by then a lot of those people would be willing to discover more music. i think it will go well. Just aslong as patrick doesn't sing the childcatcher or that other song where the lyrics say something about cutting his whatsit off! people might get the wrong impression then. hmm the only thing now is getting tickets, i searched ebay but nothing yet. I'm hoping as it gets more towards the shows date those people that jack the price up will be selling them. Wish me luck.

Bah. Am I the only one who will get extremely jealous if they have to share Patrick with even more people?
I love sharing good music, I want him to be successful, he deserves it... but I'll get so jealous. I want him to be a secret. I blame it on Regina Spektor and The Dresden Dolls popularity boom, it's made me bitter and unwilling to share... and I kinda feel guilty and bad about it.
Did that make any sense?

Gah, it makes total sense. Especially The Dresden Dolls. They used to be my special obscure little band. Yes, I sound lame. But now everyone is going around in those stripey tights, and it feels less special somehow. But I can take comfort in making smug assumptions that they only like them for the image ;D Jx

They're on tour with NIN at the moment, and their tickets are $80. HA. I really wish I had gone to a show before they really started getting popular, it'd have saved me money, and would have been smaller. They've played a million shows close to me and I've never bother to go to one... sometimes I hate myself for my laziness, I really wish I had gone to their Halloween show at least. Amanda's part of the cause of Regina's popularity since she talks of her a lot. Therefore I think I'll blame The Dresden Dolls for it all, they brought down two birds with one stone.
Wow, I'm sorry for the ramble, I just had to get it out.
I don't want Patrick Wolf ending up on the path they're on. It's selfish and I know it, but he can't... he's not allowed.

I'd love to see Patrick support British Sea Power. What a gig that would be! Both inhabit the same kind of universe.

I thought tickets were still up for sale for the two Brixton shows? ] were they the london shows? if they are then their sold out i'm underage so i can only go to those. I wouldn't mind going to the cardiff one their still on sale but by the time we get a credit card they'll be sold out. i saw tickets on sale today i think they might of been for brix or cardiff one of the two but i don't have an email account so i couldn't contact the person to say wait a tick. lol. i've posted on a few forums now asking if anyone could help or wouldn't mind selling their ticket for a decent amount of money. just one ticket will do. once again guys wish me luck love, maddy.

British Sea Power are great! shame Franz/Futureheads/Bloc Party etc have kind of stolen their thunder in the eccentric very british art rock stakes.
Bloc Party however are more or less average, they have potential but they don't deserve the attention they are getting.
And they are coma inducingly dull live.

well i dont think they deserve the commerial sucess their obvious influences Sonic Youth/My Bloody Valentine/Wire never had.
They are promising but quite unorginal, it annoys me people seem to think they have some sort of crazy new sound or something, when a lot of their stuff is pure rehash.
Maybe the next album will be better, they are good djs and Kele seems a lovely bloke mind.
