well i'm thinking off sending some of my poems to Patrick as i feel i have connected in obviously a distant second hand way with his worldview.
I would be really interesed to see what he thinks of my work. But do you think this is the ulitimate in saddo teenage obsessive behaviour? and will he perchance think im a nutchase stalker?

Not lame at all. As ziggy015 says, you appreciate his art and I'm sure he'd be delighted that you thought he would appreciate yours. I'm sure Patrick would be grateful that you trusted him with your poetry and over the moon that his fans think about his music and connect with it, as well as enjoy it on one aural level. Moreover, that they reciprocate the form of views.
Stop thinking. Start sending.

Yeah, definately send it. I have a live recording of him talking about a letter he recieved and he seemed really pleased about it. He also mentions that he used to send stuff to people he admired so i'm sure he'd be grateful for anything you send him.
Do it.

thanks for the support guys. So gonna do it now. I stil love Patricks 12 year old Minty fan story! And writing a Pixies/Breeders/Amps fanzine at that age too.. I did go and see the Fall when i was 8 but still, pretty remarkable stuff.

I was thinking about writing to him too, i've been recording since I was 16 (20 now) and released an album last year with a duo I was in with my best friend, Since I Was A Little Girl (on indie label Where It's At Is Where You Are, Weevil used to be on it). We can't record because we were both in a car accident and he passed away in hospital. I still record myself though.. the music is very much overwhelmed by death and loss and i'd really love to know what Patrick thought about it, because his stuff means so much to me (even if he doesn't like it, I just really need feedback) I'd also love to know what equipment he uses. Anyone know? (and should I send a letter & CD?)

He really seems like the type who would want to listen to what you have to say about your music and give his opinions. Also, I'm very sorry to hear about you're friend and the accident x

Thanks. I think you're right, he seems like someone who would be interested in people who like his music and what they think & feel.

I really believe that he's like that. And it would mean that someone who you look up to or find inspiering or whatever will hear your own stuff. Which is always kinda cool
