I am doing half a project on Patrick and his song 'Teignmouth'. I need a little help on the actual music basics.. I am not so good at counting the meter. I tried to count it in the song, and I got 4. Does that sound right? Also, what form do you think it is? AABA, ABA, etc.. The professor said I could ask for help on this, so I am not cheating. Thanks!

hmm, the number of verses isn't even regular, I doubt you can apply an ABBA/ABAB/whatever structure to those lyrics... but you can try anyway.
(what do you mean by 'meter'? if I understand what it refers to in english maybe I can help you).

The tempo.. Like does it go in 2's or 4's or in an odd number like 3 or 5, or does it change?

I think the tempo is 4/4 or 2/4 but it's most definitely not walz (aka 3/3, if it was then you could count "one two three one two three" but during this song you can only count "one two three four one two three four"). the tempo goes faster during the chorus but it slows down again during the verse. the structure is very typical: ABAB. verse chorus verse chorus.
I hope my help doesn't come too late.. :/

It did come too late, but thank you! You are right. I asked for my professors help. It's 4/4 and ABAB.
