I nodded throughout your whole speil Josh. Well put. Why thank you, I'd glad I haven't offended and despite what I might type there I do love the wee glittery fucker. I just think what he needs is to get rid of the yes man and the sycophants and hire a no nonsense northerner like me to keep his feet on the ground to give him a slap when he gets to big for his boots, for his own good of course..

I hope so too. It was a little distressing. The interview itself seemed...odd. Like some sort of facade was slipping while he was under the influence.

I feel dissapointed know, and I kinda wish I hadn't seen it. It like goes against what kind of a person I think he is and it seems very out of character, but obviously I don't know Patrick personally so, maybe...? I hope it was drunk related in that sense. :S

Great points L B C. All good, and the last point you made was simply excellent. No-one above anybody. Unless it's your boss!

Right I love the music, but what a c unt Patrick comes across in that footage. First of all I dislike violence, but the one thing I dislike more than violence is cowardly violence, he bitch slaps that drummer, then hits him with the cymbol and ok he might have grounds to be annoyed. But really whats Mr Drummer going to do, hit him back? What with secruity guards, and a crowd of baying Patrick devotees right in front of him? That is off course not even considering that fact that Patrick is his Boss Would Patrick get all violent with anyone without those safeguards? I don't think so. Almost more grating however is the coked up pretentious bollocks hes coming out with in the interview. Note he disses Jesus Christ, while stating his religion is "love" now much as I have a lot of issues with Christianity and much of the material in the Bible, I think concepts like "Love your enemies" and "love your neighbour as yourself" did just a little bit more to promoted the cause of love than slapping your drummer around and throwing girly tantrums. Oh and no one is "above" anyone else? It sure didn't look like that while Patrick was hitting in effect his employee for not following his "orders" I completely agree 100%. But, the far more important question is: what is the deal with his accent there?

So many people turn into complete arses when they're drunk, and I think it's a bit low to sneak-attack anyone for an interview when they're THAT inebriated. And his behaviour with Zach was less than honourable, but I like to hope he made up for it in a more sober state. Let's just stage an intervention, chaps. Patrick, we all love you very much, and that's why we think you should HOLD THE FUCK BACK ON THE JAZZ LEMONADE.

Yeah in the interests of fairness I must point out that all though I obviously don't personally know Patrick Wolf, most of the time when I've seen him in the media, live and what not he has seemed like a perfectly pleasant and likable bloke.
I mean I'm sure even our most beloved friends act like c unts at times, and its our duty as good friend to tell them about it, so yeah nowt personal Wolfy but I reckon apologies for your conduct is in order if nothing else to the fans you've let down.
Oh and dude bit of friendly advice don't EVER agree to be interviewed while under the influence again eh?

The interview reminded me of the bit in Gummo with the black midget and Harmony Korine on the sofa...
"But l used to roll marbles on her stomach... my mom's stomach... and when l would hit the navel... she'd give me five dollars. When l'd hit the navel... she'd give me five dollars... When l would hit the side of her arm... she would fuckin' hit me, man... with a... a fuckin'... a... a... a hairbrush... or she would beat me... I had a lesbian midwife... who gave birth to my mother..."
But really, the performance bit was just that. A performance. Hence the microphone. He came off as a twat, but everyone already knew he was a bit of a primadonna.
Also I thought the audience should have just shut up instead of hooting like morons.

Come to think about it, the whole "No one is better than you" thing followed by him giving orders to his drummer was a bit odd to say the least. But he was drunk, and I don't think he would have been like that if he was sober. In fact, I don't think he would have said a lot of those things he mentioned in the interview either. I can understand why he was angry though, I definatly would have been! But I think the way that he carried on even though he was dissapointed was really good.

I agree with Josh, too (emm, I'm unsure if it's okay to call you by your name, but I am too lazy to spell out your username)
I dunno, though... Coupled with the drunkness and being pissed off (everyone is a mega female reproductive organs when they're annoyed - it's true) I can't really blame him. He seems to be a passionate guy, so being a bit ready with his hands is kind of expected.
he did talk a load of crap in his interview, though. He's a wee bit pretentious, but you gotta love him.

Also I thought the audience should have just shut up instead of hooting like morons. I think that's been the problem with the entire New York fiasco: I realise they need to do something to promote the release of the album, but I don't think playing to a room full of assymetrical haircuts is what Patrick needs right now. I think part of the problem with the promotion of Lycanthropy was that Patrick never really played outside of London (I can only remember three: Club Suicide in Manchester, a turn at Death Disco in Glasgow and the Fopp instore / performance in Nottingham), and he wasn't reaching the kind of crowd who would buy his records. This is not me being 'omg I don't want Patrick to be successful' - the handbags are always going to hover at the edge of Patrick fandom, because he's mentioned in all the right magazines - but it's taken a hell of a long time to build up such a loyal fanbase of people who really appreciate the records (and not just the albums), and it would be a shame to have that spoilt by trying to do too much too soon. To balance the argument, can I just point out how utterly tasteless it was of the magazine to tag that on the end of an already piss poor peice of journalism? Just sayin'... Cheerio, Michael. xxx

Everybody has their moments of prickosity, because they are human, and all humans are egotistical hypocrites. Even if one does not come across as such, deep, deep down somewhere inside, they are.
Heh, I know I just sounded incredibly bitter there but I think it's true.
So I forgive Patrick. It wasn't really all THAT terrible, but it is just a bit dissappointing to fans who look up to him. Like Josh has previously stated, he really does seem like a very nice and likeable guy, and I'm sure he is. He just had a slight egotistical hypocritcal human moment, like we all do.
Also, Patrick, as Josh and Meryl said, I think it would be a good idea to avoid inteviews while drunk. Performing while drunk is not always good either.
However I thought some of that interview was pretty funny. What is wrong with Americans? Elvis Presley, Justin Timberlake, and Mariah Carey. ;D Hahaha.

As you said Josh, the fact that he was interview just before he went and made a right mess of the performance by hitting the drummer with his own kit, just shows what the influence can do- and what opportunist journalists think they can handle...
Also- in light on your comment gyspyqueen, the irony of Patrick finding whats wrong with America, then covering Timberlake in 'Blackbird' and from the Astoria gig and the gold shirt and prowling swagger and swing of those hips; he's more elvis rock-n'-roll than ever...
What's wrong with America? What's wrong with you Patrick let alone your drummer...? (at which my only comment is, we are all human.)

HAHA, I know! That's why I found it funny that he mentioned Justin Timberlake there. I love irony. I'm sure that whole comment was mostly joking anyways, though, really don't think it was meant to be serious... But yes, we are all human. Stupid, stupid humans.
