What are your hopes for the new album?
I hope for more beats and less symbolism.

I must have missed the symbolism. Perhaps my interpretation was too shallow. Oh, woe.
I hope for a surprise, which is a bit of a lame cop-out thing to hope for I suppose. I'd just like to listen to it and think "Woah shit, I wasn't expecting that." Maybe less serious than Wind In The Wires too. And yes, some more beats wouldn't go amiss.

yeah more electronics would be lovely - things like Tristan that I can dance to. something less classical - though I do love it it would be a bit of a bummer after he has promised to go all 'colourful'..

Well judging by last night i think you'll all be pleasantly suprises. He also said the album is 70% happy songs and 30% serious darker songs, plus there are brass instruments along with the strings and lots of laptop beats.

I was kind of dissapointed with Wind In The Wires but this is all sounding good.

it has been a long time since i have pushed for an artist as much as i have with patrick. every mixtape/cd has had a track or two on, put tracks in to playlist rotation and i have just been really trying to get as many people as i can clued in. you know, it really is all about the third record. wish there was a bit more to go on for the rest than just one fetal clip. hopefully this album will be a full on deal maker and not a deal breaker.

Ive been following this philosophy too- im getting everyone to listen to tarcks and get feedback- so far, no-one has rejected him! So far - so good! ;D sebxx

I'm already just sooooooo in love with the album, according to what I heard at the bloomsbury!!!
And magpie, oh dear, MAGPIE (saw seven of them on a field on my way from Penzance to Land's End)!!!! And Enchanted, and A'n'E!!! It's been a week now, and I haven't fully recovered from the gig yet! And come to think of it: do I really want to? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I want beats. lots of them. I want the songs to blend so that i dunno where one ends and the other begins. I want lots and lots of instruments. I want some wierd samples that work really well and I want some clear melodies and other stuff too...

However cheesy this sounds, from what Ive already heard from the shows, The magic position sounds like it has everything I expected and wanted from the next album. A mixture of everything we have already seen from Patrick; The darkness of wind in the wires mixed with the more electro stuff we saw on Lycanthropy. But more mature than his first album and overall, just a bigger sound. Then again, I've always thought that you cant properly judge an album when its performed live due to the atmosphere at live gigs filling you with such euphoria that you would probably love a song even if it was based around a loop of babies burping. Or maybe thats just me...
