Happy New Year everyone! Have a good next year!
On another note, Our Paddy (as he is now known to me and my mate) was on the Virgin Media Music On Demand when you typed up his name. He has done new interviews and a live performance. Ha, my friends parent answered the door when we came in and said, we saw Patrick Wolf's name on the Music on demand, go upstairs and watch it. We know your both gunna sit there and not move till its done. (I was meant to just get my bags and go home... I stayed there for 2 hours ;D)

Happy new year!!! ;D Yeah i saw that! I didn't get to watch it though I was round at my friend's and one of my friends was choosing music on the Virgin On Demand thing when i saw Patrick's name come up! I was like "PATRICK WOLF!!!" but no one offered to play it for me and i didn't want to be pushy (and my friends don't have the best taste in music ) The Olympic hype's started already Haha - i was thinking of going to London in the summer if there's any gigs i want to go to, and my mum just said to me "Listen, even if The Feeling play a show in London with Patrick Wolf and that Canadian guy, i don't think you should try and go to London during the Olympics!!!" Em... like i would miss that!!!! But yes i think i will try and avoid London then Haha i'm quite amused - "that Canadian guy"

but it isn't easter yet! I guess we have to do sth else than wishing each other happy xy so uhm...has anyone already been to some gigs? I haven't which adds to my general discontent with this year so far and how's the weather where you live? in Berlin it's freezing...grannies have brought back fur coats into use and fur hats...our windows are covered in frostwork each morning...I wear several stockings when I go outside...I feel as if I were in Russia

I don't have any gigs coming up this year, none of the bands/musicians i like seem to have any shows coming up Patrick needs to hurry up and announce a tour!!! It's surprisingly mild here at the moment - i keep hearing about how cold it is in England, i think there was snow in London last week and i heard it was -15 in some places in England the other day. I thought we were supposed to be the ones who got the worst weather! Haha, all we seem to do on this thread is wish each other a happy (...) or discuss the weather! It's actually been quite a dramatic week - one of the buildings in my uni went on fire on tuesday night! No one was hurt but the building is really badly damaged and the whole street was fenced off the next day. So everything's a bit disrupted, half our lectures are meant to be in there and i don't think it will be open again for months. And then on friday there was a bomb scare in town - apparently there were streets fenced off and guarded by armed police! (i didn't see any of this, i only heard about it after)

^wow! That must be really annoying. do you know how you're going to carry on learning with the building being repaired?
It was quite dramatic here too, but it was this girl called Lauren was in a fight and the other girl had a knife outside the school, so she ran to the cookery rooms to get one for herself. She ended up being dragged to PC Greg's office and staying there, dont know what happened to the girl outside...
I shouldn't laugh but the day before was a whole day on knife crime. The old police officer who worked at our school done a presentation and a Senior Nurse from Royal Liverpool hospital came in and shown us pictures of knife wounds, near the end I had to look away. The pictures had knifes sticking out through backs and throats and one was that some fella fell on the knife he was carrying and it had a flesh-eating disease on it... Also they have to keep all the equipment in if you die so one of the pictures was the body opened up with the heart left in there... Not nice.
That made my area seem lovely... Can't wait to move away.

^ That's quite scary That's quite ironic, were they not disturbed by the presentations?! They're trying to find somewhere else for us to have the lectures, they're all being rescheduled (we have tomorrow morning off now . We normally go through that building to get from our lockers to the labs we're in now (we can't take bags or jackets into labs), so now we have to walk down the street in our lab coats to get there!!! (Luckily tomorrow should be my last day in those labs, the ones i'm in next are right outside our lockers.)

^ and what/who caused the fire? students playing with chemicals? we once had lectures in a theater (you know where cabaret shows take place and such stuff), because there weren't enough rooms in the university. the fun thing was our professor has a comical talent and he walked up and down the stage doing his lecture and then told a joke while we were sitting in little groups at coffee tables the only thing missing was a nice glas of wine to fully enjoy it it's quite frustrating to sit some metres from a bar with nice liqueur bottles and you can't order sth, because you're having a lecture and the best thing was it was in my neighbourhood, just 10min away from my flat that sounds so horrible! but the area I live in now is quite "lively" too when I go out with our dog in the evening I often see gangs. and men with combat dogs. but they don't seem dangerous. maybe I look fierce enough with my 6ft+ and my little yellow dog who wears a harness with the inscription "mummy's darling" ;D so we have turkish (boy) gangs and nazi guys with their dogs and some white trash...quite lovely, I assure you and every now and then stupid kids let off fireworks in the middle of the night...

Interestingly, my uni's Chemistry department set on fire the other week! I didn't actually see it, but the pictures looked fairly dramatic and it was one of the most read stories on the BBC news website that day which I guess was exciting I've not been on here much because of dissertation STRESS, it's due in 4 and a half weeks and I'm geuinely panicking about how quickly the time's going! I've done loads of work but it never quite seems like enough, can't wait till it's in and over with...

This has bothering me...
I got a lovely comment on my outlook of life by my friend because she thinks that I think everything shits rainbows (I don't, I just don't have a horrible outlook on life and think everyone is a rapist or a murderer or psycho. Not like I don't freak out if I have to pass a dark alleyway or the street lamp goes out, or some gang of lads in the scally attire of our area walk straight up to me. I shouldn't sterotype people but its hard when they look scary) . It was her fault the conversation started, she wanted to get out of the crowds like something bad was immediately going to happen.
I felt like putting a nicer topic on the table than recent dramas going on. So, how do you think your outlook on life is?

happy-go-lucky ;D just watched it again and I wish I could always be like Poppy. I know I'm not, but I'd like to (I fear too many people are like Scott someone hushed us when we laughed in the cinema when Scott had this freak-out and insults Poppy, sth along the lines "you fuck your boyfriend and you fuck your girlfriend and you all drive around in that stupid yellow car" xD so we had a Scott in the audience...because there is no other explanation why someone wouldn't laugh about this ) oh found it... 2min in

heheh, i can see why you laughed... Though the fella chasing her around the car and across the street was really funny. And his face when having his rant was weird, like really stretchy...

^ it's even funnier when you've seen the film now we're talking films...is that combinable with the outlook on life question? I'd say yes wohoo that's gonna be interesting if the rest joins in ...okay I know that's unlikely, but still...

I don't think they've figured out what caused the fire yet, apparently it started in a chemical engineering lab (which is not the same as chemistry btw - it had nothing to do with us ). It turned out we were supposed to have our 9am lecture on monday after all, but they didn't send the email til 7.30am that morning so apparently only 10 people turned up! (who checks their email at 7.30am??? it's not even enough time to get ready/travel in) Haha, that must have been really strange having a lecture in a theatre, it sounds fun We have plenty of other buildings though, most of the lectures are just being moved to other rooms. There's nothing wrong with being optimistic (as long as you're not too naive or anything) - it's a good thing to be happy ;D I'm optimistic most of the time i think, sometimes i get bored with my life or unhappy for no reason but most of the time i'm happy And sometimes i worry too much about stupid things, i inherited my grandad's worrying gene I sometimes get nervous going through bad areas and stuff, but then i'm from a "posh" area (people who live in worse areas think it's posh because you don't have to fear for your life if you walk down the street at night well maybe it is a bit posh compared to some places but most people here aren't at all posh! or maybe we are and i just can't tell )

thehazelwoodfaye I think you can combine films and life outlook, I want to see Naked (it has David Thewlis as the lead, i sort of stalk him coz he's Remus Lupin) but it looks pretty bleak... ^ haha no one can blame you then! Don't be too optimistic though, like its stupid to walk in a dark alley in a big city you don't know. Like big population = more chance of a crime being committed. < That's my theory anyway. The people in my area are nice, just the reputation of the place and how it looks put me off... All the wall are blank and i dont see why they cant be brightened up and make the area nice. Also the new revelation of knife wielding 15-year-old girls... Though there is a park behind my street that has escaped rabbits living there and kids chase them. I tried to catch one and keep it as a pet when I was little, but just saying, rabbits can run fast... Also, I have a new food obsession: Peanut Butter. I blame the Kitkat advert when it says 'what makes your heart flutter? ... Peanut butter.' It channelled in my head that I wanted some... now I love it, damn you advertising!

^ No, peanuts are evil!!! They are, they could kill me And now i don't think i can eat Kit Kat chunkys any more, they probably all say "may contain traces of peanuts"

If you've been eating kitkat chunkys and not died, im sure you can have more. I'm confused, are you allergic or just hate them?

Post by catwolf on Feb 17, 2012 13:41:13 GMT
I'm allergic to them - they literally could kill me! It was fine to eat kitkat chunkys when they didn't do peanut ones, but now they'll probably be made in the same factory as the peanut ones so i don't think i'll be able to eat them (if it says "may contain traces of peanuts" then it's too dangerous ) I haven't checked the ingredients yet though, maybe they'll still be ok Don't succumb to the power of advertising!
