Harvey Milk. And Soldier's Girl today. I don't know what's possessed me to watch such sad movies that made me want to cry, but they were good movies. Harvey Milk is such a wonderful movie

I watched Vera Drake today. It's very good, but it made me sad. Not crying sad, but still sad.

Barry Lyndon. I bought a Stanley Kubrick boxset ages ago and it's the one film I'd not seen before in there. It's a bit detached, you're watching the whole story from the outside as an observer rather than getting an inside view of the characters. Typically for a Kubrick film; everyone's a bastard and the one act of goodness by a character is punished harshly.
Still I enjoyed it .. so much going on story wise it didn't seem three hours at all, beautiful to look at, and really quite gripping towards the end. The death of the little boy and the final duel are beautifully done.

Amelie and Changeling. Amelie was obviously amazing, and Changeling was weird and a bit harrowing, but very good all the same

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World!! Went with people who liked the series a lot, ended up being about four thousand times more satisfied than I thought I would be with it. Also referred to the outing as a 'pilgrimage' more than was called for. Highly recommendable.
I'm still wondering where the career of Michael Cera is headed with age, but boy is he still cute.

Also referred to the outing as a 'pilgrimage' . If I could exalt you for amazing punnage, I would. I hope Michael Cera's career is heading into my bed, i think that's the only sensible next step.

My favourite Michael Cera film is the one in which he plays a sensible well-respected adult.

I just watched the classic American film Stand By Me. Amazing! It's good isn't it? It's amazing to think River Pheonix was only 16 when it was filmed; he was such a good actor for his age. Today all I seem to have done is watch films or parts of films. Finding Neverland and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were on TV earlier so I watched most of them and I just finished watching The Great Gatsby. Horrible characters, engaging story, beautiful costumes.

He was 16?! Whoa he looks younger. I loved how each one of them got really famous after it. Yeah it was brilliant.
