I like Rufus' music and general ethos, I just can't get past the voice ) : THIS!!! I thought it was just me. My boyfriend loves him, and I just can't connect. But my top 3 are Stevie Nicks, Marianne Faithfull, and Kate Bush... so I'm really no one to talk about anybody's voice. Plus his mother and sister are aural orgasms. Can I submit Stevie Nicks, then? I don't expect her to go very far with you hip young folks, but I'd like to see her try.

My top played is Sufjan Stevens. Not sure how accurate this is, I skip the end of songs so it doesn't record it on my itunes.

Do you guys mind if I group Morrissey with the Smiths and Stevie with Fleetwood Mac? Ala Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac, just to give them more of fighting chance?
Also, Florence.. I picked five from your list because they're artists who tend to be popular on wolfboard and who's stuff most people are likely familar with, at least.

Aye, put Fleetwood Mac then, Josh. I'm a fan of both, and I think you're right that they'll have more pull. Thanks!

Could we maybe attach a song via youtube/myspace/whatever to represent each of the players? Frankly, I'm unfamiliar with most of them. I'm happy to do some searching and listening on my own to remedy that, but it might be fun to include something as part of the competition, too.
If it's too complicated, that's cool too!

I'll just take my top six on last.fm - okay, without Patrick it's my top five. Tegan and Sara, Arctic Monkeys, Get Well Soon, Florence + The Machine, Coldplay. Could even be quite accurate.
