I'm stickying this because the points raised by crytome are serious business and need a wider airing.

A beautiful form of disassociation. Better than any audit.

Has anyone thought (and I'm serious here) that Crytome might be Patrick Wolf?

Banksy was born in Yate apparently! *cool face*....that's where I live by the way, hence being happy about it. His stuff around Bristol is 'well good'.
edit: got confused, a few pages back there was talk of Bansky.

Stop it! Your all unfair. Im trying to help you and your cowering under the branches of the forest of SELF-SUBJUGATION. Free yourselves. You can free yourselves with art.

I like the idea of traditionalist art covered in cum, it's about disrespect but also expression and love and a new way of thinking. Oh my god, I think this is my favourite quote ever. I know I'm slow on the uptake, but... there needs to be another awards, so I can vote crytome my favourite poster. Has anyone thought (and I'm serious here) that Crytome might be Patrick Wolf? All my lost respect for him would be earned back in an instance. Regardless of whether it was all a joke or not.

OK Im sorry, I think you've all misunderstood me. I get passionate when I talk about things I love. Im sorry if I upset anyone.
Can we start again? I did make another account, but i thought itd be hypocriticul of me, hiding behind an artifice. So here I am.
I am glad this has been stuckied to the top, it's an important question even if no one wants to take it seriously How can we truly appreciate something we cant define?

I think it was stickied for epic lulz, and so josh could flex his moderatorial muscle.

That's what I assumed at least.
Still, what is art? I think it's things drawn on the back of placemats and flowers in dirty canals.

Why don't we just say what isn't art.
I'll start...
BANKSY!

I think art's ineffability is one of the things that makes it so precious to me. However, I think trying to define "art" is a fun exercise, even if it tends to be futile.
So let's start over. Would you care to substantiate your stance more?

Maybe everything is art. I guess i haven't really thought this through. This may be true. Or maybe it isn't! Where does art come from? Does it have to be made? Does it originate from the decisions of an artist? Or can someone else decide if something is art? Who decides what is canon? What aspects makes something canonical or canonable? Each one is its own lovely, wonderful, frustrating can of worms.

Aw gawd can't we give it a rest?
This question really irritates me. There is no definitive objective answer. Art is whatever people call art. The subject defines the description rather than the other way round.
So bugger off and post about your silly girlfriend.
