I've baked a cake. The result reminds me of the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' from my kindergarten days: be inspired by the one above, some bleeding cupcakes, or this cake for christopher street day to make one yourself and post your colourful/creative cake here

mmm, cake. technically not a cake but still bake-related: once i made glittery cookies for the first patnic, in a patrick kind of theme (we had giraffes, lighthouses, keys...). wish i had more pics of the others. i've been meaning to bake a multicoloured cake a la the recipe shared on fred butler's blog ( here), so if i ever get around to it, i'll be heading back here to share my adventures.

What a yummy thread! I love the look of those bleeding heart cupcakes. There are so many pictures of cake/baking stuff I've made it's actually unreal, but I'll post a couple of the best: The most delicious one I've ever made, I think. The icing was half chocolate butter icing and half pink whipped cream. MMM. And, my brothers twentieth birthday cake which I made for him: It's not the best picture for seeing the actual cake, but it's the only photo I have, and it has the added bonus of being hilarious. The cake, oh my god. It was a sandwich cake with generous amounts of butter icing in the middle, and the butter icing had crushed malteasers in. Lush.

I make amazing cakes. However I can't be bothered looking for pictures, so here's some ones with names of Wolfies on that we had at a tea party at mine once.

^there's a comic skull in the middle of your cake, romi! I LOVE CAKES TO DEATH ...(but never taking photos of them) edit... okay, here's one crappy photo i took of juli's cake we actually baked together: it's like the first you posted romi, just a little "healthier".

there's a comic skull in the middle of your cake, romi! a skull? I see this: interesting. spoooooooooohoookey, a skull cake! eta: when you see a skull in this cake above, what do you see in the right picture of my first post in this thread? no butterfly? also: there's a funny link in your message between the words skull, death and healthier.

^yeah, it's more of a softy skull, or even a ghost!? um... eta: when you see a skull in this cake above, what do you see in the right picture of my first post in this thread? no butterfly? could be a butterfly, yes. but what i see is a slightly grim (and colourful! ; )) klaus nomi and his twin facing each other.

This thread makes me want to make cakes. And I must. instead of going home all depressed and lethargic I SHALL be motivated to bake a cake, insted of wasting my evening with the TV and a pizza.
I don't know how you all find time! Some amazingly tasty looking results too. Mine won't look good, I know, but it might taste good.
