The 'I grabbed Patrick's ass' thread and post about wanking to The Childcatcher were far more depressing and as far as I know are still there.

YES Laura, promote me. They are WONDERFUL. I am sad I cannot go.
No need to apologise to me my dear, it didn't necessarily make me feel alive with the joys of spring. Although I do prefer films that have downbeat endings where everybody dies.

i'm sure they will be back again sometime soon! Seem like a band who tour often, and they'll have to promote their album in a few months.

Back again sometime soon in the way the Community Room topics will be "back again soon"?!
I'm quite annoyed that Penrose and Trussler Incorporated is gone!

One day you and Michael will make out. You will watch a video in which you'll discover that Michael was going to take you to the prom that time your date stood you up. He's your lobster.

Dumbledore is gay?!
Seriously, if it wasn't explicity written in the book as part of the book, I don't really care what J.K. Rowling tells us AFTER the fact. I think she just makes it up as she goes along.

I don't see why it matters- He's an eccentric, FICTIONAL old man who already died, anyways. She could say he liked a bit of Thestral and I wouldn't really care.

I like the Harry Potter books, but then there are all these stupid press conferences where silly little children ask silly little questions and she gives them silly little answers that people take as some kind of secret that she has been keeping from us. It makes me feel like she doesn't really care about the books at all, and the clip I watched they said something that she was like 'oh this will give them [church, american parents] another reason to not like the books' etc....what an idiot!

Actually, not an idiot since I'm sure she gets a hefty sum for each of these press conferences.

Dumbledore is gay?! Seriously, if it wasn't explicity written in the book as part of the book, I don't really care what J.K. Rowling tells us AFTER the fact. I think she just makes it up as she goes along. I know! And you'd think it's almost more discriminatory than it is liberating for the poor fictional bathead. I mean she doesn't exactly discuss the sexual ambiguity of any of the other characters, does she? So here she goes, islandizing the gay character and making such a big deal about it, even if she is a supporter of gay rights. It fashions him in such a way as to purposely obtain negative attention, and why should it be such a big deal? Let him be gay if he freaking wants to and let the fanfiction have a go at feeding on the fat of the matter. Way to place a bold on the harrows of love, J.K. Rowling. Tsk tsk.

It makes me feel like she doesn't really care about the books at all, and the clip I watched they said something that she was like 'oh this will give them [church, american parents] another reason to not like the books' etc....what an idiot! But you can imagine how excited she must be to finally be able to reveal all these little facts she knows about her characters. She couldn't before, because they WERE a secret. And lots of fans appreciate all the little details, because we're totally obsessive and need to know everything. And yet, I still haven't decided how I feel about her outing Dumbledore. There's been SO MUCH backlash, about people feeling awkward about Dumbledore and Harry's relationship now. For some reason, people think homosexual = pedophile. Imagine that. :-\ I mean, sure, it was more than okay when it was just fanfiction writers gaying up Dumbledore, but now that it's official! It's just been kind of ridiculous.
