as far as artwork is concerned, it's a bit amateur, don't you think?

Well, the art concept is not exactly the same as pixeled msn emoticons so I guess I can't complain. i like it, i think the photography is really striking. Well, I guess I can say that what really bugs me about the cover is the fact that the photo itself is too raw. I mean, it's something I'm not used to when it comes to music artwork, PW artwork to be precise. Even the WITW vinyl has some re-touching. Now, this "Damaris" cover... it feels like a photo that came directly from camera, without editing or enhancing . Totally low-budget. Oh well, I'm just storming about a picture and forgeting of how great the song itself is, silly me.

Didn't Patrick say something a while back that a big part of the Bachelor photography was that it wasn't retouched? No photoshop, editing, etc...?
Some kind of signature of the photographers used?
(I'm obviously paraphrasing here, I'll have to try to find what he actually said).

The fact is: Vulture, Spinster, Bachelor itself and Hard Times, all of them had some pretty heavy editing in terms of photography

Hmm, maybe in theory. The fact is: Vulture, Spinster, Bachelor itself and Hard Times, all of them had some pretty heavy editing in terms of photography Found the quote: Soon you will start to see the new artwork by Nick Thornton Jones And Warren du Preez... These guys are very similar to thomas bloch and alec empire. Their photography is pure alchemy but not computer generated as many might think. They come from the good times of experimental photography before computers (not too long ago at all...) where people were playing with light and movement and shadows. aperture, Illusions and set designs, taking us on a journey to another place like all great art and music should. I have been dissapointed that many of you people would look at an the new album cover by nick and warren and say "OMG LOLZ THEY DID THIS IN PHOTOSHOP INNIT BABEZ ROFL WTF" where actually you're talking about a two day shoot, a weeks worth of preparation, one of the most amazing team put together of the leading avant garde creative visionaries in london. I am bored of the way most images look these days.. we are all photoshopped to look as though we were created by mary kate and ashley olsens mum or zac effrons plastic surgeon don't you think? I wanted to work with photographers who let me dance and move as I do onstage, to communicate to the camera like I do on video, who would help me articulate the character of the album, the different personas in the songs.. thank you so much to nick and warren for being that and so much more. From the myspace blog on March 26, 2009 So yeah, no heavy editing.

I like it! Love what they have done with his hair, and that he looks like a warrior of some kind.
