^ ha!
Also, it's obviously none of my business, but I'm not entirely convinced by this new happy Patrick. The whole time I've sensed far too much aggression and frustration, that I'm not really sure how he actually feels. But hey, none of my business, if he's happy then that's great, obviously.

Very disappointed with his behaviour onstage lately. Have there been other incidents recently? Sorry, I don't read the Live section... (I know I should GTFO and look myself, but I'm in the middle of prep for a dinner party tonight :s )

I mean some gigs in USA when he was extremely vulgar because of some chatting people in the crowd.

his behaviour worries me. firstly because of what sibz said, and rightly so - someone WILL sue him if he's not careful. he is being far too reckless and yes, being a "diva" and having standards is perfectly fine (i'd be disappointed if patrick stopped having perfectionist-level standards for his music/live expressions, because, how boring..) BUT acting like a child and throwing shit around when you don't get your way is NOT. someone is going to get seriously hurt.
but on the other hand, it worries me because his moods are so erratic, i can't help but conclude (in my own mind) that something isn't right. now i'm not anywhere near to being a doctor or a psychiatrist but i myself have suffered with intense mood swings and blinding rage like that and it terrified me enough to seek help. does he need to do the same? not my place to say.
i just... sigh. he is so, so lovely, then he does things like this, and my respect goes flying out the window.

Jay my own personal reasons were exactly why I was thinking the same about him, so I couldn't agree more. I know it's not for us to 'snoop' but I don't actually think you need to look far to see that he might not be as perfectly happy as he likes to let on. But also, I think everyone can do whatever they like in their lives as long as it doesn't harm or potentially harm other people (or yourself). This is why I wasn't impressed with this one.
From my own experience... sometimes everything in your life seems to be perfect on paper or when you say it out loud (and you wish to share that with everyone), and you'd have no reason NOT to be happy, but it doesn't mean you are.

yeah, i agree, jade. do what you want just don't make things unsafe/dangerous for yourself/anyone else. the man is human. i mean, we're all allowed off days. i just don't think he's dealing with them in the right way at all. but then he's so fiercely against medication and counselling... punch a pillow or something. wah.

Oh my. At first it was 'Oh ha he's a bit angry' but then the violence and was that more spitting? I agree with Jay, respect has been slipping lower recently. and yeah personal reasons also, Jay and Jade.

That is not an acceptable way to act.

i agree with what jay said, it's a completely irrational response. he put one of his closest friend right in the firing line there, poor victoria had to duck out of the way, and it's pretty scary having a 6'4" guy throw a mic stand at you (i can confirm this, he threw one at me once ) i'm awaiting his statement on this. hopefully it won't be his standard "it's everyone else's fault, blah blah touring, blahblah excuses".

I don't know, I'm a minority here now but not that upset about it. He wanted to give a full show, someone decided otherwise, he got angry. He's always been a bit like that, doing 'radical' things when he gets upset/is annoyed/wants to annoy someone -- I'm not sure is this like a sign of something big and new going on in his head.
He's human. People "should" learn how to behave. But then again occassional outbursts like this just you know, keep him as human, kind of. When things get too neutral and professional, personally I start feeling weird about it.
Or maybe being an Oasis fan for 13 years kinda makes you immune to these things. But I still like the attitude of them both. "If someone wants us off this stage they better come and drag us out because we ain't going anywhere." Rawr.

andy, like i said, it's fine having the odd occasional outburst when you're upset but putting other people in danger and making yourself look like an irresponsible, spoiled brat in the process is just ridiculous and is so far from okay.
attitude, swagger, this so-called "diva" persona.. sure. attacking people because you don't get your own way? nah. he has plenty of opportunity to give people a full show. it's no excuse for his behaviour...
also, comparing patrick to oasis, not even going to go there.

I'm not promoting that sort of behaviour in the "I think everyone should do it all the time!" way, no. But he doesn't lose my respect or anything due to it. The fact he is upset about someone wanting to cut down his show, even if it takes a radical form, is what I have respect for. There's passion there which many artists lack. also, comparing patrick to oasis, not even going to go there. Well, been a huge fan of both, the other some 13 years, other about 4. The ways their music touches me and made me fall in love with them is the same. If one is able to see past the media tabloid hell that surrounds the band, to the roots and things that really matter - there's actually quite a lot of similarities.

like i said, it's fine having the odd occasional outburst when you're upset but putting other people in danger and making yourself look like an irresponsible, spoiled brat in the process is just ridiculous and is so far from okay. Yep, that's pretty much it. i'm awaiting his statement on this. hopefully it won't be his standard "it's everyone else's fault, blah blah touring, blahblah excuses". ugh i know. I know touring is crazy and stressful and all but god you can't chuck large pieces of equipment at people over it. And that poor girl, it sucks they had to cut him off like that and i can understand him getting upset about it but she was just following orders and having to do her job, didn't deserve the abuse she got. But really NO ONE should get a STOOL thrown in their direction. Unless it is the Jerry Springer show. Or for comedic purposes. Or WWE wrestling. Though they usually use metal folding chairs. Still, you get my point. ah patrick, you can do better than that.

Lord up London! Yeah! Like everyone else, i was like 'WOO! RIGHTEOUS! OVERUSE OF THE F-WORD! WOO!' and then i was like 'oh. Oh crap, jesus, way to throw stuff at your friends, oh shiiiit, ok, you're a bit of a tit, is there literally ANYTHING else you could throw??' He looked scary.
Yeah, agreeing with everyone else here. It was also over something relatively small. I mean, i'd apologise to the audience but there was no need to lob a bloody STOOL at the side of the stage!

He better issue an apology for this. This is going to spread like wildfire.

I'd be shocked if he (or his PR people) actually issued an apology. They should, though, because if this extends to other festival organizers in the future it'd likely contribute to whether he is invited to play, which is a shame. i just... sigh. he is so, so lovely, then he does things like this, and my respect goes flying out the window. Yep . At least at the moment.
