Well... I play the violin and a term used quite often is the Magic Position, it basically means that everything is perfect and the violin will sound as it should and be as i should, i think its a point to make as the song is about being in a relationship right at the start when there is nothing wrong and everything is untainted, when the relationship is in the magic position... it is perfect, the rot hasnt set in yet.
I think the key could be a big part of TMP story and narrative and im sure it has a major significance in the world Patrick wants us to be consumed in, but i cant help but feel that the key is maybe Love... For me thats what the album says anyway.
I mean, Love is lost for example in Bluebells and he spends his time alone, the relatonship is broken and the rot is setting in and so he swallows the key.
In other refernces i just really see it as Love, The key is Love and love is everything because without it you are locked out of that world that Patrick so much wants to be a part of and was/is at various points of the album.
Thats just my interpretation.
xoxo

haha! horrorshock, that's actually what he said the album is about. he said it was about love. finding a love. it goes well at first then it goes bad. then it's lost. looking back on it. then moving on to find more (or create your own love) i forget lol......... ummmm yeah.... i like the whole concept of the album but some of it is too up-beat and pop-ish for me. i prefer Lycanthropy and WITW and his b-sides...
