You two should write more album reviews like that.
Greenclaws made me LAUGH.
If you weren't excited about the album, read that review. You will be after that. Or just a little confused.

Does augustine have the best chord sequence ever? quite possibly. Is overture actually the greatest song I've ever heard? Almost certainly.

I friends locked these entries on my LiveJournal back in July, but since people are spoiling the album left, right and centre: michaelbush.livejournal.com/324662.htmlReviews of 'The Magic Position', 'Magpie', 'Get Lost', 'Enchanted', 'Accident and Emergency' from Patrick's DJ set in Glasgow. michaelbush.livejournal.com/325451.htmlThe album reviewed, as a dialogue between my boyfriend and I. I imagine this will be the only Magic Position review which mentions Nicola Roberts, Party Girl from the Vengaboys and Greenclaws. Cheerio, Michael. xxx someone else ermembers greenclaws!!

I'm not sure I like the poduction of this song... it's been made a bit less "ecstatic violin-heavy folk song" and more "production-heavy happy pop song"..
It's still good.. I just prefer it live.

I'm liking Get Lost actually at the moment.
Enchanted is the only one I don't really like. It's a bit too loungey for me.
The Stars is pretty ace, but Patrick's singing on the song isn't up to scratch in my opinion.

Yeah Enchanted doesnt really seem to fit for me. Its all about Augustine, its such a damn beautiful track, especially the 'everrrrr, e-everrrr, ooooh, oh' bit, i dunno why but its the biggest grower for me.

Aww I LOVE augustine, it is just wonderful. Enchanted is a bit meh - it tends to just pass me by. And as for The Magic Position, I wish the violins were a bit higher in the mix but I still love it. x

I can't say I particularly like Augustine or Enchanted. Augustine reminds me of The Railway House, except, less good. Just seems to be dreary and doesn't engage me at all. Then again, I'm sure it'll grow on me and within a month I'll love it. Usually happens.

Am I the only one who loves Secret Garden? Seriously, it's fucking fantastic. Like the lost sequel to Kate Bush's "Waking The Witch".
Oh and I'm so dissapointed that he's used the crappy mix of A&E on the album. Definately my least favourite track. I've had the album for a while, this is how I'd rank the tracks from fav to least fav.
1. Magpie - Just absolutely beautiful and haunting. 2. Magic Position - Instant classic. 3. Stars - Instant classic. 4. Augustine - Instant classic. 5. Bluebells 6. Secret Garden 7. Get Lost 8. Overture 9. Enchanted 10. The Bluebell 11. Finale 12. The Kiss 13. Accident & Emergency - Meh.
