I got a Brüko uke myself, a baritone and a soprano. The soprano remains in its flight-case and is played on only when I need to record. www.brueko.de

Gypsy King on Baritone Ukulele! this song is one of my favorite patrick songs to play, but souvenirs takes the cake, I play a modified version that I use of the one that atrocity exhibition posted a while ago that I can post if anyone wants. Verse: (there are tons of flourishes in the live one so I'm just gonna post the gist for easiness sake. E|-----0----------3-0-| B|----1----------1-1--| G|--2----------2------| D|0-----0h2-3--------| Chorus:(strummed the second time in the BBC video) E|---0---3--5| B|---1---0--5| G|-2---4--5-| D|3---5--7--| Bridge:("I have a small house...") E|---3| B|--1-| G|-----| D|3----| (you can improvise and arpeggiate upwards with three notes per arpeggio using the 3213. )

I ordered the Lanikai LU-21BE with factory installed pickup. I'm waiting on it to come in. They had originally shipped the wrong one. I taught myself Augustine today. I had to piece together the chord sequence by comparing live versions and pitch-matching with my uke. So, these notes I made myself may prove useful to another. Augustine - Baritone Ukulele Tuning: C G C F# The chords are played by moving the fingers along the top two strings up and down the frets, with the two bottom strings open. Such as: 0 (This is similar to the bulk of Wolf’s songs in CGCE / DADF# tuning. 0 Which is basically the same tuning, but at different pitches, like using a capo.) x x I have designated the fret sequence by comparing two live versions: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXCEeFHt1Agand www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFdFH4_SoFUThere’s a part in the chorus where the fingers move to the 12th fret in one live version, but the 5th in the vodcast. Play as you like. Intro: 0-0-5-5-1-0 | 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 5-3-1-0 | 0-5-1-3 | 0 | Verse 1: 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 5-3-1-0 | 5-1 | 0 | 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 5-3-1-0 | 5-1 | 0 | Chorus 1: 1-3-5-0-1-12-0-1 | 1-3-5-0-1-12-0-1 | 1-3-5-0-1-12-0-1 | 1-3 | 0 | Verse 2: 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 5-3-1-0 | 0-5 | 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 5-3-1-0 | 5-1/ | Chorus 2: 1-3-5-0-1-12-0-1 | 1-3-5-0-1-12-0-1 | 1-3-5-0-1-12-0-1 | 1-3-8-7-8-7 | 1-3 | 0 | Verse 3: 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 0-5-1-3 | 5-3-1-0-5-3-3-5-3-1-0 | -Justin Val Rocha

I do too, though I find myself playing the baritone a lot more, its less a choice of taste and more of habit though, having smaller frets and interesting tuning, theres a lot of unexplored territory. I just hate the whole Jake Shimabukuro thing: he just does covers (instrumental renditions) of very popular songs, and once he started breaking through, he took down all of the tabs he made so no one else could play them. He's the only person I've seen who still waxes his hair and wears sunglasses indoors; I guess I shouldn't let some hack ruin a great instrument for me.

Aww... I wish I could get a ukulele. The only one I can get is a kid's ukulele. Not that I'd mind having a kids one though.

Uhm. I foud a way of playing The Railway House on the A D F# B tuned ukelele I guess its already up but anyway I dont know how to write this really I just hope you understand
so this is the way the first chord look like
-2-------- -x3------- -x--4----- -2-------- the rows are the strings you know...
the second is just your finger straight over -2-------- -2-------- -2-------- -2--------
so listen to the song and you will get the pattern like 1 2 1 2 1 2 11 I think this will work through out the whole song

this is not much, but to play something similar to the strings in "Overture" Any string you like and regular baritone ukulele, guitar, or whatever playing: 1-3-5-5-7-8-8-8-7-7-7-8-7-5 I find it sounds best played on the first string but would probably sound excellent if you tried using more than one string

How do you guys tune your ukes in Souvenirs? I've tried F C G E flat, but it sounds really weird. The E flat and G sounds far too deep, although my chromatic tuner says it's tuned correctly. This is my first stringed instrument...so I'm absolutely clueless. If anyone could help me, that'd be great.

SOUVENIRS, i play it as Em, D in the verses, and F, Gm, Dm in the chorus. i dunno how that works for anyone else...also, i play it on a Soprano Uke - GCEA tuning - so the picking doesn't sound the same as the recorded version....i just play it in chords...

I'm pretty sure its in standard baritone DGBE, the way I play it sounds pretty identical to the recording, look for atrocity_exhibition's tab in the tabs thread

Hi! Loving this thread! Thanks so much for all the awesome tabs!
This isn't much, but on a Sop Uke tuned to GCEA you can mimic the solo violin version of Pigeon Song that Patrick does live sometimes. I've only managed to work out the first part, but I'll put the rest up as soon as I can.
Intro/'London, did you have to take my child away..'
C G Am ¦-------3-----------2---2----0--0----0- ¦----0----0-----3----3---3----0--0--0- ¦-0-----------2-----------------------0- ¦--------------------------------------2-
Later he plays this variation:
C G Am ¦-------3---5--------2---3----0--0----0- ¦----0----0---0---3----3---3----0--0-0- ¦-0--------------2----------------------0- ¦----------------------------------------2-
Tbh if you just fret the chords, and arpeggiate them, you can kind of get the gist... Listen to the song if you want get them 100% accurate, this is more of a rough sketching. I'll try and 'sketch' the rest soon!
Hope this helps...
Uke's rule!
(btw I tried to post this before, and it didn't work. So apologies if I've posted twice...)

I don't know his brand, but Bushman are usually pretty good for Ukes.. Their Sop's are fit as, so they probs have a Barry or two.. EDIT: I was bored and feeling nice, so I tracked down the thread for you... The darker uke he plays is a Hohner Lanikai lu21b: patrickwolf.proboards37.com/index.cgi?board=pw&action=display&thread=999&page=2The FAQ/Links Thread in 'Patrick Wolf' is usually pretty good for finding threads like that... There's loads of them! xox gb
