isn't midem only for industry people? i don't think you can see the performances if you're not a midem member.. yup, i couldn't find anywhere to get tickets and was wondering if it wasn't only reserved to professional from the music industry... grrrrr

oh thanks for this detail short set but he might play new songs oh what a dilemna, should i go? T.T what a dilemna ... à 5h30 d'où tu vis... moi ça fait plus que ça encore T.T And HOW the hell can you buy the ticket ! the midem-site sucks ... and there's no way to find anything on the Wolf on La Fnac ... ah enfin un(e) français(e) par ici.. je me demandais également la même chose, en effet le site du midem est pourrie et je ne sais pas non plus où trouver des places, je me demandais si ce n'était pas réservée aux professionnels t'es prêt(e) à te bouger de nantes, purée, t'es motivé(e)..

hehe..
i'm amazed by the number of vegetarian / vegan, here.. well i've been vegetarian for 9 years (and it's not really common to be vegetarian here in france), i turned because of daniel johns (silverchair), because i've never really appreciated meat and because i find out the industry and the way animals were treated really sucked (i still want to throw up each time i see the inside of a refregirated truck delivering a butcher, yuk) i was pretty strict at the beginning then started to wear second hand leather shoes and finally might have a hunter trophy on my bedroom.. i'm full of paradox
whenever i'm in a big town i try to go at the natural history museum (the one in London is lovely and enormous and full of all kinds of species), i like taxidermy, and feels like it's an 'ode' to the beauty of an animal, the deer head that hangs in my bedroom is like a jesus on crucifix (i'm a non religious person but i dig icons as well), i think it's esthetically amazing and has something special i like to believe this deer wasn't killed only for being a decoration piece.. plus i got it from a salvation army store, it was already owned and would have been by someone else if not me..

this deer head hangs in my bedroom. i'm starting this thread so that the luffly documentary thread stops being polluted.. i don't know if it's a good idea, as said, each one has its own point of view and arguments, depends on how stubborn you are so well, here you can now all debate...

oh my!! how weird.... he plays for the MIDEM festival in Cannes (cote d'azur), that sounds so bizarre.. i went to the midem website and checked the 'concert' section they've put a video for ..david (!!!) wolf named 'bloodbeat' but it is an extract from the luffly documentary but they say they are gonna put live performances of the midem shows so check it out later: www.midem.com('concert' section) cannes is a 5h30 drive from where i live and i wonder if i should go, he might play a very short set as there are many artists that same night, that is the first time i wish i was still living in the cote d'azur area.. ... i might go

i'm french so i might help.. i don't listen much to french music but i recommend: Julien Doré (he won the equivalent of american idols a few yrs ago but is pretty indie and fun and does great music) www.myspace.com/juliendoremusicHousse de Racket, recently played a lot on the radios with "Oh Yeah", fun lyrics, sometimes pop, sometimes electro www.myspace.com/houssederacketAaRON (soft & slow music duet, mainly piano / accoustic guitar, mostly sing in english) www.myspace.com/aaronrecordingsVanessa Paradis (mainly known for dating Johnny Depp and for the hit she sung when she was a teen "Jo Le Taxi", her last album Divinidylle was a top seller last year, and i really do thing "Little" has (copies?) the exact same voice but Vanessa Paradis is just better) -no myspace??? wow can't believe it, yet i guess you can easily download her album- Charlotte Gainsbourg (daughter of Serge, actress (for Gondry!) and now.. singer - "the songs that we sing" was a hit here) www.myspace.com/charlottegainsbourgi'm not a big fan of the teen (fake) rock'n'roll parisian wave that came about two years ago but well if you like BB Brunes, you can try to listen to Naast, Second Sex or the feminine version of it : The Plasticines www.myspace.com/plastiscineEtienne Daho is an established french singer who makes pretty nice tunes and has an awesome and very recognisable voice www.myspace.com/etiennedaho (only recent songs on his myspace, try to find old new wave songs!!) The Do is half french, you might now the hit "on your shoulder".. www.myspace.com/thedobandi'm overdosed w/ JUSTICE but well: fr.myspace.com/etjusticepourtousThe Teenagers now live in London but are french and fun (silly pop): www.myspace.com/theteenagersAbout the same (French in London) for Rodeo Massacre but the dark garage version of it (fyi, the former drummer is the guy who created the r'n'r brand April 77 which is why they are dressed from bottoms to top with it, the guy was too busy with his business to keep playing with the band - "Brand new day" is my fav song): www.myspace.com/rodeomassacreYaël Naim, best known for "New Soul" used for the Mac Airbook ad, mostly sings in hebrew and english but is french www.myspace.com/yaelnaim Indochine is a classic band of the new wave years in france, they turned into pop glam (??), "le secret" with melissa auf der maur (hole / the smashing pumpkins..) is a slow nice song (and you might have heard the miss kittin cover of "troisième sexe" (et on se prend la main, une fille au masculin, un garçon au féminin....) in the MaDame JP Gaultier perfume ad feat. Agyness Deyn) www.myspace.com/indochineofficiali'm sure there are billions i can't think of now but well listen to that for now i might post more later hope this helped..
