Oh, you knew it had to come sooner or later...
While I think 'Tristan' is the catchiest of the new songs, I think 'Eulogy' is my favourite - it's certainly my favourite of Patrick's vocal performance, it really shows how much Patrick has grown in the few years since Lycanthropy was released. I love his voice on this album.
'Eulogy' reduced me to tears the first time I heard it, which is unusual - as much as I love music, it's very rare that a song moves me enough to cry...

I like Eulogy a lot to, but its hard to pick one song cos with the exception of Tristan the album is almost like one complete piece of music, meant to be listened to as a whole.

Eulogy is *beautiful* but it sounds much better live when he sings it a capella.
My favourites right now are Teignmouth and Gypsy King.. But maybe that's partly cos there's lots of stuff I want to escape right now..
Wind In The Wires is growing on me fast though!

After hearing the live version of 'Teignmouth', I may have changed my mind...
So help me if he doesn't have the baby grand on this tour.

It is very difficult to decide, but I think if I absolutely had to pick one, it would be Wind In The Wires. Eulogy and Teignmouth are certainly up there though, as is Tristan.

Teignmouth is excellent, and Ghost Song, as well as Demolition and Paris. The Childcatcher is great too, and very very dark.

Hmm...on Wind in the Wires I'd have to say I love the title track (especially "it's just a little sigh...*sighs") and Ghost Song especially. Between the "whoop!," "call for him 'cross the wind and rain," the veiled strain/yearning in each word, and the high notes he hits (is it really him?!!) in the backing vocals in the chorus, it's a great vocal. Plus the lyrics are very imaginative and the music is great. Actually reminds me of "To the Lighthouse" the novel a lot. The song I most dislike on the album is probably "This Weather" which I like but the basic tune/drive of it just reminds me of Coldplay really. Although I appreciate the howl at the end of it which is actually really rather touching. on the old album, I can hardly complain of any of the tracks, although Paris is my favorite and I think the Pigeon Song 4 track demo is better than the version on the LP.

It's always difficult to choose favourites... i can't just choose one song, i have favourites for every mood... I'm absolutely in love with the pigeon song, afraid, a boy like me, pumpkin soup and the epilogue of lycanthrophy From the witw era it's souvenirs, wind in the wires, ghost song.
Funny, when i look on my list i'm more into the slower songs, usually i'm the upbeat boy...

Although I appreciate the howl at the end of it which is actually really rather touching. There's a comparison I never would have made! I can understand why someone would dislike 'This Weather', but as someone who grew up by the sea, someone who experience the nasty, depressing English winters Patrick is singing about in the song, I can assure you that he's captured that sense of melancholy as well as that sense of dreadful panic incredibly well... 'This Weather' sets depressing, yet pretty imagery in my mind. I love it.
'Eulogy' is a close second. All the songs are lovely.

Defo eulogy, so sad and tragic, when all the strings come in its quite overwelming, its nice to be overwelmed for a minute or so.
teignmouth and the gypsy king also
i just learnt this weather on piano *takes a bow* ahh the joys of playing by ear.
