@cat You are so funny! Haha. Well I'm glad you had a great time and got to speak to him properly! I can't wait to listen to the full show. Amazon is advertising Starry Night socks on your post btw, or did you add that?? Hahaha. I was worried I would get on William's nerves too b/c I wanted to make sure I got an EP but I didn't want to be standing there staring at him set up the merch table. I hate being shy.I think most normal people would have just walked up right away and asked. Hahaha. I'm just dying at you telling him you packed your lunches for gig money. I wish I could go to all of his shows! I did the stupidest thing this morning I've ever done for a gig (well besides flying to NYC & Boston to see Patrick, which was awesome not stupid). I spent $422 on a ticket (£269.00) for my favorite band. OMG it looks worse in pounds. But I was going to go to two shows which would mean 2 hotel nights, and it would have been really bad tickets, instead we are in 4th row in the pit and are skipping the hotel and driving back! So dumb! Haha I've been reasoning with myself and my husband all morning on this...tickets are selling for $1,400 on ebay so in a way....it was a deal...still a rip off and mine were from Ticketmaster. I think this is the last time I will ever see this band because of how bad their gouging their fans and I had refused to buy a ticket up til this point when Ticketmaster magically released pit tickets... but my friend's Grandmother died on the last tour so she missed both shows we had tickets to, then her father in law died yesterday so I wanted to cheer her up and just went with it! God I've just realized I could buy like 10 tickets to see Patrick for what that cost. I will be working overtime all month and probably next month. And it's in Atlanta and we all know I get punched in the face every time I go to Atlanta! Some rich lady that paid $1400 for her ticket is probably going to smack me over the head with her handbag.

Okay, who are the british fangirls who were at the show in Gothenburg? The show was really great by the way. I am terrible at writing concert reviews so not going to try that. He did some Joni Mitchell cover I hadn't heard before and dedicated it to his cousin Harry (who was at the show) who, I suppose, some of you might have seen on Patrick's Twitter. Now some sleep, then I'm off to Stockholm and another Wolf show on sunday. Bliss! /T

Twas not me... i wish! Aww, yeah i saw - that was the cutest photo Have fun on Sunday! Haha, thanks Faye! Hahaha no the adverts are just random i think, that's hilarious!!! It's just showing a proboards advert for me Haha yeah he was setting up the merch table right in front of us and i couldn't decide whether or not to go over... so i went over and asked when it looked like he was nearly done and he told me it was still too early to buy stuff. So i waited til the doors opened and i got my seat then i ran out and bought half the table! Haha, that is crazy!!! I hate when bands overcharge that much for tickets! I hope you don't get punched in the face again! Yeah that version of William was gorgeous - i'd no idea what song it was going to be til he started singing! It reminded me a bit of Music of Hair I've now heard all of Lupercalia live except Slow Motion (and all of The Bachelor except The Messenger... and if you can count Bitten then all of S&R too! ;D Well except Oblivion i suppose, i've only heard the Bachelor version) I wish it could be last week again!!! But just 5 more weeks to go now til my next fix! Oh and i wasn't even nervous talking to Patrick I think i just got so nervous at Cottiers because it'd been such a long time since i'd last spoken to him... so yes you do get over being nervous around him eventually!

Today they announced that he'll be playing Göteborg (my home town) as well on Feb. 15th. D'oh! i totally forgot you were coming to that one as well!!! *facepalm* haha, maybe i even saw you and didn't know? Okay, who are the british fangirls who were at the show in Gothenburg? actually, not British but Swedish, Danish and German ... if you're talking about a glittery group of three --- songs played at Gothenburg as far as my memory serves me correctly: Overture Hard Times Time Of My Life London Wind In The Wires Libertine Oblivion Gypsy King The Sun Is Often Out Together Falcons William Pigeon Song Bermondsey Street Magic Position Joni Mitchell cover (I do not know which song it was) The City --- The church itself was a beautiful building on a tiny hill - I cannot express how glad I was it was the tiny hill and not the Skansa krona place (insane hill with 5 billion stairs, that's the one, isn't it?)! Swedes also put every British person to shame when they start queueing! I have never seen a queue this organised and straight! We didn't have any support and Patrick started nearly on time. By no later than the 3rd song, Time of my Life, the atmosphere in the church was fantastic! I barely felt he was adressing my friends and me when after that song, whilst trying to climb over to the piano, he said that some of us might have heard the next story a thousand times already. I half- honestly answered that we'd never heard it... well, I didn't know for sure which one would follow He explained his birth-experience to Gothenburg after that, that is, his own birth, with his mother pressing him out, having been in labour for 24 for hours and needing her first drink, in London's St. Thomas hospital whilst the first thing he heard in his life was the sound of Big Ben. This bond to the city he expressed in the song London, its first and last words in the lyrics forming the name of his current album, Sundark & Riverlight - or rather, correcting himself grinning, they used to. Wind In The Wires he told us was written whilst touring his first album, and premiered live in Gothenburg. Laughingly he told us he messed it up epicly that night. This time however, in its beautifully arranged version, I'm sure he made up for that. (although we all know how charmingly he screws up stuff, if he does ) Patrick also talked about his first touring experiences in Sweden, being invited really early in his career and having gotten so much support from the audience. Often he would beg his management to please get him some shows in Scandinavia - and finally, it happened. Jokingly adding he hoped the next time wouldn't be until another 10 years. As come to be a habit of this tour, whenever Libertine is being played, it ends up being my favourite of the night. Gothenburg was no exception. If you have seen Patrick performing it before, you might know he likes to use up all the stage and whatever he can reach of the audience-space during his performance of the song. Let me assure you, he tried! It was just that his microphone was duct taped to the décor, so he could barely reach the sides of the stage! The tiny space being crammed with instruments didn't make it easier and the bow of his viola got knocked to the ground - however the instrument itself managed to hold position. All in all Patrick was in a very talkative happy mood, he told the audience about the transformation of Barghest into Oblivion and explained how he got to play the ukulele and how this led to the Gypsy King being written. With The Sun Is Often Out we then got deeper into the sentimental part of the show, it being dedicated to his late friend Stephen Vickery and sung as emotional as you can get. But this was to be an evening of happiness, so the next song was skipped for it being to depressive - we can only speculate what it might have been on the list, Teignmouth maybe? Willem had already left the stage, so they had to call him back for Together. We were told that his godmother was in the audience tonight, with an apology he didn't make it to their wedding, and also his cousin Harry, who was simply the greatest kid. They got a song dedicated to them, but don't point me down if it was really Together or something else - it was a very lovely gesture for sure and got the deserved audience reaction. William was sung in a marvellous, long version, a bit too beautiful to describe properly, sorry. Followed by Pigeon Song, with Patrick at the viola and Vicky at the violin. You really need to see those two together, their deep friendship is radiating from their faces and still, after 10 years of playing it, they enjoy doing that song! The Magic Position was incredibly funny again, for everyone. It undeniably has that positive vibe to begin with, and Wolf adds special charm by throwing in some chords that don't quite belong, accompanied by his 'oh-crap'-grin. The only possible fashionable end to such a version is of course to play the last "chord" with your foot, and so he did - earning a heartfelt mixture of applause, laughing and squeaking. The Joni Mitchell cover I still can't remember the name of, was dedicated to cousin Harry. Patrick said he would have been glad to have known that song in Harry's age, but he didn't, so this was for Harry! Far too quickly we had come to the end of the set, The City being the last song of the night, even though it got extended to the maximum, including asking for 'that special place' in Gothenburg with a following practise of pronouncing Swedish 'skansa krona'. With standing ovations we had to say goodbye to Patrick and his wonderful band, even though we were all giddy and happy and definitely not in the mood to call it a day just yet. Luckily the tour is not over yet! --- lol, this was a long edit

Okay, who are the british fangirls who were at the show in Gothenburg? actually, not British but Swedish, Danish and German ... if you're talking about a glittery group of three Firstly, I went with my girlfriend and we got quite a good second row seat on the right side of the aisle, so if you saw a (currently round-ish) guy with glasses and a girl with pink hair around there, that was us. Secondly, I think we spoke to the Swedish girl in the group at the Stockholm gig on Sunday. Had seats next to her on the balcony at Södra Teatern. We thought you gals sounded British and I assumed it might be someone from the forum. Thirdly, the Stockholm show was such a different experience. More of a Wolf solo show. Definitely a darker set list, quite fitting since the scene lighting was almost nonexistent. We did get Teignmouth (THANK GOD!) and Godrevy Point (!!!). Now, let's hope he manages to fit in a show in London around may 4th-7th when I'll be around. EDIT: Also, it's Skansen Kronan. Yup, it's a million billion stairs (or a steep road at the back) but a lovely view once you get up there. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skansen_Kronan Lousy picture, but you get the idea if you compare the stairs to the person in front of them: PICTUREHERE are some pictures from Hagakyrkan. Not mine though. I think we have a few as well, but we haven't had time to put them online yet. /T

oh I did see you then!!!! Teignmouth AND Godrevy Point - wow! I'm happy for you that you got two so different shows! I wouldn't mind another London show in may either Aaaah good to know! We were thinking about going up there, but in the end we couldn't be bothered so we went up some steep hill instead to go to Slottsskogen park and then spent some time trying to find the seal pond there, that had many confusing signs but we couldn't actually find it XD

niwo that sounds amazing!! ("Storytellers:Patrick Wolf" needs to happen). I think Patrick is the only person who could get me in a church besides my grandmother. I'm glad you had a lot of fun I love Patrick shows because they always seem to come with a journey : ) Someone posted this and I had to share (Yes, the most frequent search on my YouTube is "Patrick Wolf, Today"). Damaris!!

I didn't hear that anyone requested Godrevy Point in Stockholm, then just sat there crying like a child from the shock after the first chords, soo cliché. Usually I have to force myself to even feel anything at all at concerts, so this was... very interesting.

During show in Moscow he dedicated Godrevy Point to me (and another girl). He said “there’s a fan who know all the b-sides, but i don’t know if he’s here) (yes, of course I was there!) and said our names. Last time I met him was in December 2011 and we have a nice talk. He even remembered that i absolutely in love with this song. So after performing it i came to stage and presented him my drawing. He smiled, shake my hand and seemed really happy. BUT. That was not the end of the story. After the concert i waited him near hotel (which was infront the concert hall, actually). And then he came to doors and i started to thank him for Godrevy Point, saying some things about Ukraine (where I came from), don’t remember what exactly i was saying, i nearly forgot all the words. He said he was “very happy to see me” and instead of shaking my hand he hugged me and kissed in a hat. I’m oficially the happiest person in the world. The show was absolutely great. He cried after Magic Position cause everyoune dropped their seats and came to stage. There was a lot of merchandise, archive ep's, so i replenished my stocks of PW releases. There's full record of it on youtube: part1 - youtu.be/ujh78__ljKcpart2 - youtu.be/9L50RRE9s4Mpart3 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJ3QbTVNdFEpart4 - youtu.be/h4q-zFtFYPopart5 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5E1ljhzq_Y(thanx for WhiteCrow8592 for recording it!!) jaqkvade That sounds amazing!!! I think this Bermondsey+Magic Position video is my favorite ever (I realize I say that every time, but this one really is wonderful!). I would have cried the entire show (I did watching that video!). I'm glad you were able to see him and have such a great experience! What LPs did he have? Are they already signed or did he come out to sign them?

Ok, I'm done with this man.
The gig in Budapest was perfect. My first show and he was in the best mood, met him, signed my notebook, got a picture with him and....
He played a song that he hasn't played before.... His version of a Hungarian song, Gloomy Sunday.
I'm done with this man, I hate him so much, oh my god.

I need Lupercalia & House!!! I'm not buying them from Sendback b/ c they add postage on each item and I end up spending enough on postage to pay for another album. Why, why, why can I not find any Patrick vinyl in the US? I'd much rather buy them at the shows so he gets the money, but I doubt he'll bring them here

Jessie, you should check ebay for those. Or perhaps musicstack.com or eil.com or something like that. Worth a shot, at least. I don't remember if Lupercalia was released by some US record label or if you'll have to buy an expensive imported copy. /T
