I'd heard that Bitten was about a friend of his who died, but i didn't know it was Amy Winehouse (i always assumed it was about someone called Lucy... ) I love that song so much! Although i like the original much better than the S&R version. It's still so beautiful but it doesn't send shivers down my spine in the same way - the Brumalia version is just perfection beyond words (...AND IT HAS A THEREMIN!!!) But that's the only remotely negative thing i could ever say about S&R! That would be so cool if we could all see Patrick in England together! Haha that WOULD be dedication, if you travelled to the other side of the world to see him!!! I also think it would be so cool to go to Cornwall on a Wind In The Wires pilgrimage and visit Penzance and Godrevy Point and Teignmouth and The Towans and Lands End... really want to do that one day!!! I've seen trains to Penzance a few times at Glasgow Central station and i've always wanted to jump on one! (I looked up ticket prices once but they were like £200 ) Hahaha yeah i saw the lust thing - oh dear! That made me laugh though! Yeah, i always want to talk about Patrick to my friends but don't want to bore them - that's why we have the wolfboard! ;D My best friend and i have always stubbornly hated each other's music, but we have a mutual agreement to put up with each other's fangirl ramblings (although we do drive each other mad sometimes!) But she actually said once that out of all the music i liked she hated Patrick least (which is the closest she'll ever get to saying she likes him! ) You should try and convert your husband! Take him to a PW show, that should do it! Haha i think i'll need to make sure any future husband of mine is willing to put up with a lifetime of Patrick Wolf!!!

I had seen an interview or something where he said it was a friend - "another Lucy" but not the same person as the first song, he just gave them the same name. But I was just sure it had to be Amy Winehouse. It's great on S&R but agree it has a bigger impact on Brumalia. But I love the version from the Joe's Pub show. That's the one that makes me cry. I keep telling my husband he has to pick one Patrick Wolf song to love. He called me from work one day to tell me that they were playing "That Magic Position" song. I want to do everything you just said!! I bet he would think we were all crazy to go on that journey, but I would love to do it. I love that he goes on writing trips. I wish I could afford to do that. I try to tell people that his music is like a really good book. He doesn't write verse, chorus, verse like most bands, he's telling these big epic stories in just a few minutes and it's so easy to get lost in them. I had been writing a story and listening to WAY too much Patrick Wolf + not enough sleep and I was so excited about these characters and I was telling someone about them. I started talking about London- then I was like, "Wait! Oh my God. That's a Patrick Wolf song. That has nothing to do with this story at all! They aren't even in London, they are in NYC!" I love his stories. @cat This is cute! www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAfVCT5KXPk it made me think of you. Did you say Penzance was your favorite? Ok guys, so what else do we like besides Patrick? LOL. I know schizoeclectic and I apparently love all the same bands (except I'm actually a huge Bon Jovi fan and that doesn't really fit between Adam Lambert and Patrick Wolf, they've just always been my favorite band and my first rock concert. I'm loyal!). Do I need to be watching Dr. Who? What is that? I see everyone talking about it all the time, but I'm not big into scifi.

Haha. I tweeted this earlier, but my husband (constantly teasing me!) made this picture. There's been a fad here for a while for "3 Wolf Moon" t-shirts from the 80s and it turned into 3 cat moons, 3 owl moons, lol and now 3PWOLFMoon. Attachments:

I know, i love how his songs are like stories or personal messages! The first moment i first truly fell in love with Patrick's music I was flicking through the Magic Position booklet, and I noticed the whole album was a story - it dawned on me how much more meaningful + special his music was than anything else i've ever heard <3 That was my "musical epiphany" Been unable to stop listening to him for 3 and a half years since! ;D Anyway, yeah it feels kind of like his songs are my friends (as stupid as that sounds!), i know them all inside out and they're such a huge source of comfort - they're always what i turn to when i'm unhappy or stressed or worried or angry. Haha that video's hilarious - he's so cute! Yeah i have such an obsession with Penzance <3 When i first heard it i was completely in awe - it felt kind of like Penzance was to other songs what Patrick's music is to other music, if that makes sense. I couldn't believe such beauty and perfection could exist! So it's been a dream of mine to hear it live one day, but i thought i'd have to beg Patrick for years - i never thought it would become one of the songs he regularly plays on a tour!!! So i'm going to ask him to play it when he comes here (although i am a bit scared of hearing it live because i'm genuinely worried i might die of emotion ) I actually have three favourite songs now - Penzance, Divine Intervention and Bitten (Brumalia version), normally in that order. And probably Empress fourth. And after that... everything else! Or maybe the live version of The Bachelor - that's one of the ones i always get most excited about, even though he plays it so often. Sorry i've ended up rambling on a bit! Haha yeah i saw that picture (but didn't know what it was), aww it's hilarious when people make stuff like that for you! The other bands/musicians i love are The Feeling, Owen Pallett, Björk, the Gipsy Kings and Andrew Bird I used to watch Dr Who, but a couple of series ago i missed quite a few episodes and never got round to catching up, so now i only watch it occasionally (and if you miss the start you never have a clue what's going on!) I think i preferred the earlier series's (does series have a plural?! i know that's not right ) a bit better. What programmes do i like... does anyone watch Dexter? It's so good, it's such a clever programme (although a bit disturbing ) I don't really have any programmes i'm obsessed with. I love Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy so much (Northern Lights, Subtle Knife + Amber Spyglass) - they're my favourite ever books And the Harry Potter books - they were my childhood! ;D I love strange French films - Belleville Rendez-vous has been my favourite film since i was about 12 My other favourite film is Dancer In The Dark (which is kind of like a Björk musical) - but it's the saddest film i've ever seen so i'm not sure i'm able to watch it again! What else do I like... glitter, bright colours, jewellery, cats, snails, owls, hedgehogs, giraffes, marmalade... i'll shut up now - i can't think of any other sensible things!

You are right! That made me go re-read the lyrics. I have been trying to find some other music to distract myself so I will not go online and buy a lot of Patrick stuff on eBayl. I really want the S&R record, but I am too cheap to pay that much for shipping. I know it says the fanzine is handmade, but I'm assuming that means he handmade the original then copied the others right? Not handmade for every record? If that was the case I'd definitely buy it. Everyone I've talked to who likes Patrick has said something similar, they just heard him at the right moment. I can't imagine how I ever didn't know his music. I love the Lupercalia look now, but that was the first thing I saw and I expected it to be pop/dance music and not very deep, so I wasn't sure about him, then I watched "Wind in the Wires" and "Tristan" and I was in love. My friend calls him my musical soul mate I seriously downloaded everything after hearing those 2 songs and for 2 weeks at work did nothing but listen to the albums in order. That's why I keep telling people, they don't understand you can't just like one song, you have to hear the whole story. And I love that he sees the albums as chapters. I hope it's a really long book! It really is weird listening to his music, because I know a lot of times people will hear a song and be like - oh that's my song, that's about me. And I can't even figure out how to describe his music, because I never think of it like that, it really is like my favorite book that I want to read over and over and over again Or even like a favorite painting. It is very comforting. I totally get what you're saying. It's not stupid! I love music, I listen to so much different music, but Patrick's music is way off the charts in feeling and emotion. I hope he never ever reads this. LOL. OH - I clicked on his website to look at the store and started laughing b/c you know it shows his Twitter feed - haha you should go look at it. It's just us, over and over. Why hasn't he followed me on Twitter yet? lol. I wish he would then I would stop talking about him. I don't think he played the Bachelor at any of my shows I might be wrong, but I really wanted to hear it. He's the only musician I know of that will just not play a song b/c he isn't in the mood for it anymore. I didn't realize after that second NYC show when we were waiting to see if he would come out, my friend said the venue was handing out champagne or wine and he thought they were charging for it b/c they were charging for everything, but I saw someone say that Patrick bought it for us. And I didn't even get it. But we were in a hurry so I didn't want to lose my place in line if he did come out. I finally have favorite songs! I really thought i had to listen to the full album every time. Right now they are: Divine Intervention, Bitten & Armistice. I like the Brumalia version best. I really love "Trust", even though I embarrassed myself and interrupted him. And I really like all the songs, but those are the 3 I will listen to without getting lost in hearing the full album. I pretty much want to hear the first 3 albums all the way through if I put them on. Everything I had was MP3, but I am slowly building my cd collection & I want to get the records. Lupercalia & Lycanthropy are so expensive here. They are only available as imports and around $30-$50. I just found Lupercalia from a UK store on eBay and bought it for $12. Haha. So funny. I said let's talk about something besides Patrick and that's all I've done. I will have to look up The Feeling & the others you listed. I have never been able to get into Björk & I feel bad b/c I know she's one of Patrick's favorites. I like Tori Amos - when I was a teenager that was my Patrick. I really thought I had to have every bootleg and live show because it was always different and she always told different stories. I don't listen to her very much now, but I think I love them both just because they are so different & sincere. I used to love old 80s hairbands/rock/metal and stuff like that, but I'm so tired of hearing the same boring stuff. Plus, whenever my husband ends up playing in cover bands they play the same song so much it ruins it. I love Patrick, Florence & The Machine, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Marina & The Diamonds, Tegan & Sara, Happy music I never in my life thought I would like pop music, but I guess the pop singers finally got strange enough for my tastes. I'm glad Patrick is the opposite of that, though. American radio ruins songs playing them over and over so I've started listening to more indie bands. I LOVE Dexter. I'm waiting for this week's episode to load on Amazon. Some other really good American shows on right now are Sons of Anarchy, White Collar, Supernatural, Weeds, etc. New Normal just started and it's really good. I don't watch a lot of TV because I hate the cable company here, lol so I refuse to buy anything from them. Some of those shows I didn't think I would like but the writing is so good now. And I never thought i would like Vampire Diaries, but I do. My friend bought us tickets to go to a convention so we can meet Ian Somerhalder (Damon) and we are the Alabama chapter of the Ian Somerhalder foundation (ISF). LOL. She is really, I am not that obsessed, but I help her promote it. I guess if Patrick had a foundation I would want to help. Vampire Diaries & Walking Dead are filmed near Atlanta, GA which is 2 hours from here so we are going to go tour the Mystic Falls set for fun when we go to the convention. I really don't like where I live even though it's a decent sized city (I'm not conservative or religious so there's not much to do), but it's kind of central to most of the other big cities in the south like Atlanta, New Orleans, Memphis and I'm 4 hours from the beach in Florida. Haha - which I forget probably sounds like forever to you guys! Oh wow. I looked up the trailer for Dancer In The Dark and I'm going to order it. I'm assuming I'm going to be a Björk fan after all because it looks amazing! Yay I love discovering new things. Yes - glitter, glitter, glitter. My mother in law always sends me this saying:"I was going to take over the world today, then I saw something shiny!" I get way too distracted. I love to travel - travel and music are my favorite things and writing and reading which I never make enough time for. I love Hello Kitty. I try not to, but it's so addictive. I try to limit myself to one thing so I bought Rainbow Kitty in NYC. And New York is my favorite place, but I really miss England and wish I could visit there soon. LOL I mentioned it to my husband for next summer.... lol maybe Patrick will have some shows then

okay, just skimming through, but Amy Winehouse - he was on tour with her in the US (in '07ish) and called her friend. during the lupercalia tour (i don't remember if it was at concerts or in interviews or both) he talked about her and how she liked the magic position (song). and he himself had gotten tired of it, but as she liked it so much he now played it again, thinking of her, and enjoying it again. lucy. westenra - character in bram stroker's dracula. bitten. read up on it, it's interesting en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DraculaDidn't he play Pelicans as an intro to something during the Lupercalia tour? (I think i remember watching a video and being very jealous cos we didn't get any Brumalia songs, being the first show of the tour ) as for brumalia songs during the lupercalia tour, going by official setlists (that don't necessarily say he played the songs or not) that are next to me on my table, he played time of year in sheffield and manchester and leeds and leipzig and hamburg - no pelicans intro for me. he also played trust, but not often and at none of 'my' shows. and i sorta have a memory of another brumalia song mingled into a sort of medley at some point, but i have never properly written my reviews and i can't be arsed to consult my notes atm sorry i'm randomly excited for 'my' tour to go on in just a bit over a week

Hi ladies. I have been feeling really poorly all week. Even right now I'm all snuggly and have a hot whiskey in tow so I've not had the energy to log in and reply But I'm here now hehe. jessie You are too cute. I love that your husband and friend encouraged Patrick in the end and there will be NO Patrick intervention's on here I can assure you I also love that he rang you to tell you 'The Magic Position' was played I love those moments its like people KNOW that he's yours and you're his haha... ^^^@cat YES!!! Imagine it mmmmm. I totally agree I LOVE when albums are a concept album or a story. I also pretty much die whenever an artist mentiona another song in a new song or references a past lyric.... for example... ''...this lone bachelor in me'' from 'Teignmouth' and then the song/album/era 'The Bachelor' I just live for that shit haha. I LOVE YOU!!! ;D An oh my yes really like Tegan & Sara too (obviously BMB like) Well I like Bon Jovi but I only know their chart stuff, mainstream, singles... Love the Walking Dead. I watch or have watched at least every show there is haha. I'm a TV addict. At the moment Music is my number one but then it tends to switch every 6 months for Film as my number one. niwo Yup!! Patrick was also supposed to appear in the video for Amy Winehouse's video for ''Tears Dry On My Own'' I love that they were friends.

Ohhh i always wondered who Lucy was! I thought she was maybe a friend/lover of his because of the mention in Bluebells. (And i actually have a friend called Lucy which makes listening to the first line of Bitten slightly awkward! ) Found the Pelicans video, it was Dublin - Niwo weren't you at that show?... And Damien, i presume you were there - you lucky people! Have fun on your tour Niwo - i always wish i could do that!!! I've ordered the S&R CD from Patrick's site (since i don't have a record player) - so excited about this fanzine ;D Yeah, i'm not sure what they mean by handmade - that'd be wonderful if Patrick did sit and draw them all (although that would take a very long time so probably not!) Yeah Patrick's music is so different to everything else, it really does feel like his songs are stories or personal messages or friends - they're so comforting Wolf Song especially is my comfort song - i've got a kind of stupid story about that actually! I work on Saturdays at 6am in a shop near where i live and to get there i have to walk round a loch - there's a path that's surrounded by trees, it's almost like woodland there. Anyway in the winter when it's dark in the mornings and there's no one around i sometimes get really scared walking there, i worry there are murderers hiding in the bushes! (And after all the trees that fell down in the storms last year i developed a fear of trees falling and killing me when it's really windy! ) I can't remember how i started this but i always listen to Wolf Song in my head (i know it well enough to play it like a CD in my brain ) and it stops me being so scared. I always do that when i'm scared now and it's become the song i always turn to when i'm in need of comfort. And now i sound like a crazy person! Hahaha we really do spam him I wish he would follow us - that would be amazing! I always think he must be so irritated by me on twitter - like last night i must have tweeted him about 10 or 15 times and he just ignored me! Haha i think i'm always just desperate for attention from people i admire! He's played The Bachelor every time i've seen him except the first time - i love the kind of syncopated version he does live I can't really find any good videos of it from the Lupercalia era. Actually i have a not too bad recording... i may have recorded his entire Beacons show on my ipod I wasn't sure if Patrick would mind me sharing it online and i actually forgot about it - i'll send it to you all if you want Trust is so beautiful - it's actually quite difficult to listen to because it makes me so emotional! Yeah it's definitely one of my (many) favourites too I don't normally have time to listen to full albums (although i always prefer listening to them in full) so i normally just listen to all Patrick's songs on shuffle. I think some of the records are really hard to get - apparently the Lycanthropy record is harder to find than the PW EP, and The Magic Position was never actually released on record. I'd love to buy a record player and collect every record he's ever released but i just know i'd end up spending ridiculous amounts of money (and it's better to save my money for gigs! ) Haha i think i'm probably Patrick and The Feeling's only mutual fan - The Feeling write sort of catchy pop songs. I love them so much though - they were the music of my teenage years and i still love them more than ever, i've seen them 11 times now and they know who i am (and pretty sure i'm officially the biggest fan of theirs in Scotland) ;D My favourite songs of theirs are actually the bsides, they always feel a bit more unique and intimate. Anyway... have you heard of Owen Pallett? Most PW fans seem to like him! He mostly plays violin - most of his music is either fantasy or slightly taking the piss of things! And he uses looping when he plays live so it sounds like there's loads of people playing at once (Andrew Bird does that too). Oh... just remembered he's on your EP - track 3!!!! That's when he played violin at one of Patrick's shows in 2007 (He used to be called Final Fantasy). My mum and i are addicted to Dexter! We have to wait til next year when the DVD comes out to see the new series though (It's not shown on tv here, or at least not on any channels we have) And it ended on such a cliffhanger!!! We're rewatching them all at the moment to keep us going Have lots of tissues ready for when you watch Dancer in the Dark!!! It's such a wonderful film but it's so so sad Haha yeah it's pretty much a Björk musical Aww hope you feel better soon Damien! (just saw your post in the midst of typing this)

Ok well I feel terrible that I couldn’t give you any kind of review of my shows other than me being all excited. Maybe my next time I will be able to maintain. I think we all talk to @madamgazette on twitter (I have noticed we all seem to talk to the same people) but she has the NYC set lists on her blog: Joe’s Pub Night 1: Teignmouth, Bitten, Paris, Wind in the Wires, Hard Times 2012, Overture, London, Oblivion, The Libertine, The Sun is Often Out, Together, Penzance, Theseus, The City, The Magic Position. Night 2: Bluebells, House, Paris, Hard Times, Tristan, The Libertine, Vulture, Oblivion, Teignmouth Shadow Sea, Together, London, Pumpkin Soup, Penzance, The Magic Position (Armistice was on the set list & he mentioned it, then decided not to play it and had his rant about the venue). The other songs I remember from Boston were Pelicans, Trust & Armistice. I really felt like I heard almost everything I could imagine except The Bachelor. It just didn’t seem to fit the mood at any of those shows. niwo which shows are you going to? I can’t believe how much I really want to go see him again! I glanced over the Dracula link – Lucy was bitten by a wolf! I’m sure it’s been discussed on here before, but do you know who the “Bluebells” Lucy is? 'Bitten' “This is a song I’ve been writing the lyrics for a few years now. It’s about addiction to love, sex and drugs. I was inspired to finally finish it this Autumn by someone I knew who sadly passed away this year due to many years of addiction. I call the character “Lucy”, after the character in Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”. It’s the sequel to the story of my song “Bluebells” which was also about a “Lucy”. Source: www.stereoboard.com/content/view/169239/9#ixzz28Is6VuKOAnd yes, I did go order that Patrick stuff on ebay & I’m sure I’m going to give in and do the preorder since he was tweeting about finishing up the zine and that made me want it more. I just need to save money after flying so far to see him. I’m dipping into my Adam Lambert ticket money to buy those – but I hate to say as much as I love Adam, I would probably use the money to go see Patrick again if it was an option.

@cat that's a great story I'm sure Patrick would love to know that his music is that comforting to you. I like that his music kind of grows with you as well, it can mean something totally different a few years from now. I know some of his songs have a different meaning for me than they did a few months ago. I will download some of those songs to listen to while i work tomorrow and tell you what I think Hahaha. I am going to try to not tweet him every 5 seconds this week. I know he has to see us on there all the time. lol. I'm going to calm down though, I don't want to terrify him after reading that article he was so upset about where he had that crazy stalker after him. That was insane. The title of that article was the worst. Some of it was interesting, but I kept thinking it didn't seem right - like things were taken out of context. schizoeclectic - you need to go listen to that band I keep tweeting about Dragonette. Tegan tweeted one of their songs the other day and I can't stop listening to them. I love when things are connected like that! Patrick's music is full of all sorts of treasures. Every time I listen I find something I didn't notice before. He really has more songs than I'll probably ever be able to hear. I love that Marianne Faithful was on "Magpie" because I'd only known her as God on AbFab. I'm assuming you watched "Lost" then....? haha. I still get upset when people are off the island! It's creepy. They were on there for 6 years. lol. So having "God" (Marianne) jumping from tv to Metallica songs and Patrick Wolf songs is strange. i am the same. Once I'm interested in something I want to know everything about it! I'm not really concerned with Patrick's personal life, but I do like to know the stories and inspirations behind the songs. I just love artists like Patrick and Tori where it's different at every show. Of course I have to admit, I've seen his videos too much because I know when he's going to roll up his sleeves! That was the strangest thing about these shows, because I think he is truly the first artist I've known only through the internet. I mean, I've never seen him on tv, radio, magazine or even seen one of his cd's in a store. I think I think about all of these things too much because my degree is in Communication and Culture so I'm always wanting to know how things are connected and why people react to things the way the do. I was thinking the other day that I could totally write a Patrick related paper if I was still in one of my other classes. Anyway, yes now I need to go to bed!!

Found the Pelicans video, it was Dublin - Niwo weren't you at that show?... And Damien, i presume you were there - you lucky people! oh my, this had to happen, huh? i have a picture of that setlist but i was too lazy to have a look. also it was my first show of the tour and before brumalia was released. i must have totally not noticed!!!! damien wasn't there i need to start reading before i hit the reply button. but the preview of the last messages is really cool! finally someone who uses as many smilies as me in posts, thank you cat ;D you don't sound crazy to me, wolf song is a fantastic comfort/encouraging song! yep, lycanthropy on vinyl is rather pricey usually. what can i say, i bought vinyls before i had a record player. and now that i have one i don't even use it that often, i still use cds for my everyday music listening, i only switch to vinyl when i want to give myself a treat. of course i'm just paranoid to scratch the vinyls haha but vinyls always feel so special - the artwork is way bigger, the record itself looks impressive and you can't just easily make a 'security' copy of it unless you have a vinyl press at home. Trust is special to me, because he was telling me about it cause he had recorded german lyrics for it (don't really hear much of it in the end product) and he was surprised (?) to find a german fan at his manchester show and he just kept telling me stuff and then practised pronouncing the german word with me - that was such a priceless conversation!!!!! i even have a list of patrick releases somewhere and try to buy a couple of things every now and then to get a proper collection together. i'm usually not that obsessive with bands, i'm mostly fine with just buying all the regular albums, whenever i get into a band. but well, i have an impressive placebo collection, next goal is an impressive patrick collection. i also love tegan and sara!!! <3 and lady gaga, owen pallett, xiu xiu, bloc party, linkin park, atari teenage riot, lana del rey, rammstein and britney spears and many more. i don't care if stuff is considered 'pop' music or if it's in the charts or not, as long as i like it, i like it EDIT: okay, feel free to slap me. i had not missed pelicans in dublin. i was very aware of it, i even wrote about it in my own review, which i just read again XD oh well, i'm getting old and it's been nearly a year.

I think I've downloaded half of the Secret Garden files this week! I've only started listening to them and have found more new songs that I hadn't previously heard. I wonder how many songs he's actually written? :)That's so neat about "Trust"! I love that song so much. Well I'm always nervous talking to people and it was like a million times worse with Patrick even though he was so sweet and I'm sure I was babbling. But he corrected me saying "Armistice" and I had kind of hesitated when I said it because I just assumed I was going to say it wrong - I was right but the pronunciation is slightly different in the US & the UK - Patrick and his lovely British accent I will never forget him smiling & saying, "Armistice for Jessie." Silly fan girl moment, but I'd never thought I'd get to hear him live, much less saying that to me I really think we were super lucky that first night in NYC because I haven't noticed anyone else tweet about him doing a meet & greet and only a few pictures of him with fans. Anyhow, here's the video of "Trust" from the Boston show - @cat & schizoeclectic have already seen it. . . there's an overly excited fan at the beginning, lol, I'll let you guess who that was. (My face was so red!!). Oh wow! xiu xiu is nice! I've never heard of them before, the "Boy Soprano" video is awesome Do you like The Irrepressibles? I don't know why I've never listened to atari teenage riot before, for some reason I thought they sounded different, but it's good @cat I think I'll like Owen Pallet, his voice is hard to hear in the YouTube videos. I downloaded Heartland and I liked "Fake Palindromes" so I've downloaded Andrew Bird &The Mysterious Production of Eggs and I will let you know how I like them when I've had more time Please tweet me if you ever think of something I might like I love finding new music. Have any of you heard of Kerli? She calls herself bubble-goth & she's from Estonia. I just adore her. It's very pop but in the interviews I've seen she's just really sweet and sincere, I don't know why if I really love music I have to like the person. But yes, I pretty much listen to anything.

EDIT: okay, feel free to slap me. i had not missed pelicans in dublin. i was very aware of it, i even wrote about it in my own review, which i just read again XD oh well, i'm getting old and it's been nearly a year. Hahahaha, oh dear! Don't worry i've done a similar thing with The Feeling - there was a cover version they'd released as a b-side ages ago and earlier in the year i was watching a video of a show i was at in 2008- apparently they played that song but i have absolutely no memory of it at all!!! Oh yeah i really over-use smileys - i have to try and remind myself not to put them at the end of every single sentence! Haha i'm glad i'm not the only one, smileys are awesome ;D Ok well I feel terrible that I couldn’t give you any kind of review of my shows other than me being all excited. Maybe my next time I will be able to maintain. Don't worry, my "gig reviews" are pretty much just fangirl accounts of meeting Patrick and everything he said to me and how happy i was! I think i've decided i'll probably get a record player for my birthday so i'm going to need to buy every one of Patrick's vinyls, which is basically like opening a big black hole in my bank account... I basically just want an excuse to collect pretty vinyls, and to finally listen to my PW EP Haha at the start of the year i decided to start a PW gig fund with my Christmas money, but it kind of merged into my other money and i accidentally spent it all and then earned it back over the summer... but i can't even make any extra shows anyway so i suppose i'll just have to spend it on records instead I think the thing about the stalker was probably made up, it sounded a bit far fetched... but yeah i always worry slightly that he'll end up scared of me! I decided to try and stop tweeting him so much but that plan didn't really work, haha I don't want to ever tweet him 20 times in one day again though - i feel terrible about that! Aww that's such a lovely story about Trust, Niwo! Yeah, moments like that are so lovely! I think my happiest Patrick memory (apart from him wearing my necklace under his top on stage and when he kissed my hand - still grinning about that!!!) was the conversation we had at the Oran Mor. It was such a lovely sunny day and i spotted him coming from the Botanic Gardens and waiting to cross the road - he saw me standing waiting and he came over and gave me a big hug. And he remembered me from the last time (even though that was 2 years before!!!!) - he said i'd grown up My heart was just pounding i was just blurting out rubbish but he was so so nice to me - i was the only one there so he stood and talked to me for like 5 minutes. I'd made him a giraffe out of beads and wire and i remember him trying to stand it up on the wall (which he also leant on to sign my Palladium setlist i'd brought), so every time i see that bit of wall it makes me happy ;D Haha i remember the most random thing though - when i told him how long i'd been waiting he said apologetically that he'd been having a shower, as if that explained where he'd been the entire day. At the time i was like "oh right" but afterwards i thought "wait a minute..." Haha that's just a random thing that sticks in my head! Oh he also tweeted earlier in the day that he was going for a walk round the Botanic Gardens in his pyjamas - if i'd seen it earlier i honestly would have run out my lecture to go and find him! (That was the best tweet ever, except for the one about him saving the snails ;D) Sorry i didn't mean to post such a long story, i should just shut up sometimes. Anyway i've just remembered i have to be up early tomorrow so i'd really better go to bed now - i'll reply about Owen Pallett and Andrew Bird and everything else tomorrow!

That's awesome that he remembered you after so much time! That's a great story So are you getting to go to another show or are you not? I hope you get to talk to him again! This time you can tell him I said hi and hopefully he won't say I'm that crazy girl that wouldn't stop babbling. Haha. I really wish you and schizoeclectic had seen the smile on his face when he said you were "trouble" It was just too funny!! Well I guess he knows you both by name so you are special I have been online trying to find the vinyl singles. Those are the ones I want right now because I literally just bought the cds (except Lycanthropy which seems to be impossible). I mainly want them just to have, lol. I always get onto my husband for spending so much money on records and now he's laughing at me. I am ordering a few on Discogs I'm just waiting to get a message back from one of the sellers. I can't wait. I should have the Lupercalia cd in the mail sometime this week. I hope he schedules more shows here in 2013.

niwo Hahahaha. I would die if he remembered me. That would mean I embarrassed myself as much as I thought. You only have 2 days left!!! I hope you have a good trip!! I can't wait for the details Tweet us ;D Here's "The Halcyon" video I was obsessed with finding today. Thanks @cat and everyone else for helping Now I've just found this (YAY Sorrow By Nature!!) patrickwolf.livejournal.com/633176.html?thread=8453976You guys have probably heard all of that but I'm happy that I don't have to figure out how to get it on my iTunes and that he did "Tristan"+"Smells Like Teen Spirit". . . . I will never find all of the Patrick treasures!!

Hahaha that would be hilarious if you did that Niwo!!! ;D Have fun on your tour!!! No i can't make any English shows There were 2 i could have got to on time but i have tests the day after both of them! (And sleep deprivation + early morning inter-city train journeys which may be delayed is probably not the best idea before a test ) So just Glasgow - i'm taking the day off work so i can go and wait outside the venue ;D Hahaha wow that's amazing - wish i could have seen it! I really hope i meet him - i miss him!!! And i'm trying to write him a letter I'm going to try and wait outside before and after so i really really hope i'll manage. Haha yes i'll tell him you say hi ;D Haha i think he only remembered me because i was the crazy girl who got there 8 hours early!!! Or maybe it was my terrible attempt at that "win a music lesson from Patrick" competition that stuck in his head... Is it the Lycanthropy CD you're struggling to find? I think there's quite a few from US sellers on ebay. It's annoying that Lycanthropy's the rarest vinyl album because that's the one i want most (if i get my record player that is!) I'm so excited that i might be able to start collecting PW vinyls - it's going to be so expensive though I think i'll start off by getting the Lupercalia boxset (which will cost like £50 with postage... but then i'll have Divine Intervention as well and a pretty box and poster ;D), and S&R from amazon because it's only £11.99 compared to £20 + postage on the official site. And if i can get hold of WITW without spending insane amounts of money that'd be good. And the Magic Position EP part 2 (Luna + The Libertine live ;D) - i have part 1 already. And i discovered today that Penzance doesn't exist on vinyl, it's only afraid that's on The Libertine 7" So yeah this is why i didn't get any lab reports done today... Yay, so happy you like Owen Pallett now Jessie Have you heard Swedish Love Story EP - i think it's my favourite thing he's released. And my favourite Owen Pallett song is Song Song Song ;D Yeah Niwo I've always wondered which two words! I've seen him live once, when he did a full orchestral performance of Heartland in London - it was incredible But i so badly want to se him in a "normal" context, like a small venue where i don't know what the setlist will be and hear non-Heartland songs live. And i keep forgetting i've actually met Owen!!!! I've told this story before i think - i was up in the circle watching him clearing the stage after he'd played and i saw someone in the stalls talking to him... then it occurred to me that they didn't check our tickets on the way back in after the breaks!!! So i went downstairs, picked the least-guarded looking door and just wandered up to the stage! He was too busy to talk properly but he came over and shook my hand ;D He was really nice, i think i just told him the show was amazing and i'd travelled down from Scotland and that he should come and do a show here. Hahaha i was so shocked afterwards i went to the foyer and phoned my best friend to tell her all about it (i must have been loud because people were staring)... and THEN i walked straight into the men's toilet by accident!!!!! What i find with Andrew Bird is i like his CDs but live he is just a million times better! I saw him in June - i'd only just discovered his music and i wasn't sure what i'd think, but as soon as he picked up his violin my jaw dropped. It was one of those moments i wish i could have preserved forever but i couldn't bear to take my eyes away for a second to start filming. And i could spend hours watching him on youtube - he's like Patrick in that no song ever sounds the same twice when he plays it live. And he's quite like Owen Pallett - he's incredible on the violin and uses looping so he can play so many parts at once on stage. (He also has a sock monkey and a spinney horn! ;D) My favourite song of his is Anonanimal It's about how people become animals of their jobs, and he's becoming an animal perfectly adapted to all music halls (at least i think he says "music halls"). I'll post a video of a performance i really like - it's an 8 minute long version in a church where he basically goes round every possible method of playing it, it doesn't really sound much like the CD version (my favourite bit is the pizzicato bit): Oh and this video is just incredible (although he looks rather like a hobo with that beard! ) Also, i love his first ever album Music of Hair - it's absolutely nothing like any of his later music - it's mostly folk music and some of it's kind of sinister sounding, but i love it so much ;D I'll post a song from that album too while i'm at it And i'm so sorry for spamming you so much with all the music i like!!! And i still haven't had a chance to listen to any of the artists you've mentioned... once i've got these lab reports done i'll look them up!
