Hej everybody,
it's Hanna, 25, from Dresden (East Germany).
Woah, it took a lot of time to finally come here and sign up.
But after all these years sharing my passion for Patrick's music with no more than my room, disgusting my mother with his strange looks and sounding spells and scaring most of my friends with his songs, I really feel the need to connect to people that have a minimum understanding for me.
Listening to the "Magpie" of the "Magic Position" in 2007 with a friend of mine was my first Patrick-album experience. Actually I think, she showed me some other stuff earlier, but I don't really remember what it was.
However, the album went around with me to different places, scared and unsettled me a lot, and a long time I favoured the calm songs like "Augustine", "The Pumpkin Soup" or "Bluebells". Also, the "Magic position" song delighted me a thousand times.
In 2009 Patrick Wolf was nearly forgotten for me, but came back by accident with his Melt festival performance of "Hard Times" - I remember listening to this song 2 hours nonstop on my way home to visit my parents !!!!
Immediately "The Bachelor" became my favourite album, I just love the folk influence and the battling electro stuff. Due to the fact that I couldn't sing along all lyrics on my first PW live gig in Berlin 2009 (and because he wasn't arrogant at all but like the cutest and honest person on earth) I really became a maniac since then. I discovered the "Wind in the Wires" and "Lycanthropy" album, fell in love with nearly all his songs. Recently I can hardly tell what's my favourite. He just makes my life so much better.
To see the great talented guy again two times this year was absolutely amazing. I totally appreciate his new songs. "The City" seemed kind of plain first. But these great lyrics of the "Lupercalia" album are full of love and I couldn't resist to love it, too, because over these years, Patrick really grow close to my heart and I'm just glad too see and hear him in happiness and joy. (Kitsch, but it's so true!)
Even my family and friends start to believe the guy has to be talented when played on radio stations.
Well, I am fangirlish now. I should stop anddon't allow all these kinds of motherly feelings for the 'little' boy again but instead nurse my post gig depression. Excuse for the weird english....
